Alternators are EASY to replace. Even if you're not mechanical at all. On most cars/trucks it's usually two or three bolts at the most, and you just have to plug the wire harness back into the new one, and put the belt back on. Shouldn't cost you too much at Autozone or a place like that. (Napa has the best parts, but also the highest prices. True testament to you get what you pay for.)
