I didn't start visiting Spaceland on regular basis until this past summer... And I actually behaved even while drinking.. :>) "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

There was one similar done on someone who appeared in Parachutist advertisements awhile back... I had mine done in 2001.... The one in the advertisement was on someone's ankle/calve I believe... Mine has been shown a few times, after several beers.. and seeing you're in Texas, it's very possible we've crossed paths... "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

Well one of my best girlfriends and I made a pact to get ours done... I chose my low, low back, basically because it's concealed except in sports tops and shorts during the summer, and I usually forget I even have it.. I don't regret it at all.. A group of tandem's came out on a Saturday for a bachelor/bachelorette party with all of the wedding party doing tandems.. They were tattoo artists and he designed mine... Tigger flying under a 9-Cell... I'll never have another one done, they lie when they say it won't hurt, much... But I love it and again don't regret it..Now had it been on my neck, leg or arm, maybe... "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

Laughing, I've used them for shoe laces, one time for the ankle portion of one of my Teva's, currently have one looped through a zipper who lost it's "pull up" tabby thing... Marked luggage with them, used them for sunglass holder when I was trying to pack...Oh and occaisionally I use them for packing!! :>) "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

Best thing I ever did was buy my hubby a hot tub... Soaking those sore muscles away after a hard day of jumping.. Only thing I have learned is not to drink much prior to getting in.. Always seem to forget most everything after that.. :>) "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

You know who's the worst about not keeping up with their personal repack cycles?? STAFFERS!!! We've actually had staffers show up at other dropzones out of date before. "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

What about the 79 yr old woman who knocked one cop out and separated the shoulder of the other cop when they were arresting her caregiver for "abuse" charges? The news shows were having a field day of these two cops getting beat by the old woman, yet they had to attempt to defend themselves and not injure this old lady in order to avoid lawsuits and publicity? Call me old fashioned but we are so PC these days it makes me sick and the criminals, well they have a hell of a lot more rights than we do. Such a wise woman! Actually, my hubby and I had several discussions that were similar. But we had them between US not posted for everyone to see. My "Maid of Honor" for our wedding was my best friend, and I rename the position to "BridesMAN"... Even put it on his flask we gave him as a momento of the occaision. It's actually a joke between us, because he's one of my best "girlfriends" and no he isn't gay! My hubby and I however made the decision from the start to discuss issues between us first, not a blame game, but a true discussion... Hardest part was learning to walk away for a short period of time when tempers flare.... Now we usually end up laughing about most things... Postings like this remind me how lucky we are to have our relationship... Another note, I too decided not to wait or regret not telling my good close friends that I love them... After losing a friend to the sport a couple years ago, nearly losing another to a serious accident last year, and almost losing my son 7 years ago in a serious accident... I don't randomly say I love you to just anyone, but when I do care about someone I tell them..Even if it's not reciprocated in the way I think it should be!! I love the quote about going out to CA to help bury a body... Can so relate, been lucky enough to have two good friends like that!! Not sure I'd do that for my own kids, well, not as readily.. Check out Spaceland's website for anything special going on... Have been to both Skydive Houston and Spaceland. Have to admit Spaceland is my fave of the two, but both good places to jump. www.skydivespaceland.com "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

I guess the current leaders were thinking a bit further out than the general public with the whole Iraq issue. I know I'll probably stir things up, but they've known for some time that we would remain in that part of the world for some time to come. Yes to stabilize the country for the Iraqi's but it also provides a closer proximity to other issues. Personally, I've worried more about Syria being a greater evil than Iran or NOrth Korea... At least those two aren't playing "neutral"... "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

Just curious if your attorney has also talked to Ed Scott at USPA or if that's even an option. He works with them in the Government Relations areas and provides them their information on cases. Seems like being a group member you should get something for your paid dues all these years. Understand completely about taking it to higher court. Too, there comes a point when it comes down to good old fashioned fighting for the principle. "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

Mike our thoughts are with you and look forward to jumping out there again this spring and summer during our visit with KJ and Megan.. Keep up the good fight! "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

sorry for the length.... Subject: Military Pay This is an Airman's response to Cindy Williams' editorial piece in the Washington Times about MILITARY PAY, it should be printed in all newspapers across America. On Nov. 12, Ms Cindy Williams (from Laverne and Shirley TV show) wrote a piece for the Washington Times, denouncing the pay raise(s) coming service members' way this year -- citing that the stated 13% wage was more than they deserve. A young airman from Hill AFB responds to her article below. He ought to get a bonus for this. "Ms Williams: I just had the pleasure of reading your column, "Our GIs earn enough" and I am a bit confused. Frankly, I'm wondering where this vaunted overpayment is going, because as far as I can tell, it disappears every month between DFAS (The Defense Finance and Accounting Service)and my bank account. Checking my latest earnings statement I see that I make $1,117.80 before taxes. After taxes, I take home $874.20. When I run that through the calculator, I come up with an annual salary of $13,413.60 before taxes, and $10,490.40, after. I work in the Air Force Network Control Center where I am part of the team responsible for a 5,000 host computer network. I am involved with infrastructure segments, specifically with Cisco Systems equipment. A quick check under jobs for Network Technicians in the Washington, D.C. area reveals a position in my career field, requiring three years experience with my job. Amazingly, this job does NOT pay $13,413.60 a year No, this job is being offered at $70,000 to $80,000 per annum...I'm sure you can draw the obvious conclusions. Given the tenor of your column, I would assume that you NEVER had the pleasure of serving your country in her armed forces Before you take it upon yourself to once more castigate congressional and DOD leadership for attempting to get the families in the military's lowest pay brackets off of WIC and food stamps, I suggest that you join a group of deploying soldiers headed for AFGHANISTAN; I leave the choice of service branch up to you. Whatever choice you make, though, opt for the SIX month rotation: it will guarantee you the longest possible time away from your family and friends, thus giving you full "deployment experience." As your group prepares to board the plane, make sure to note the spouses and children who are saying good-bye to their loved ones. Also take care to note that several families are still unsure of how they'll be able to make ends meet while the primary breadwinner is gone -- obviously they've been squandering the "vast" piles of cash the government has been giving them. Try to deploy over a major holiday; Christmas and Thanksgiving are perennial favorites. And when you're actually over there, sitting in a foxhole, shivering against the cold desert night; and the flight sergeant tells you that there aren't enough people on shift to relieve you for chow, remember this: trade whatever MRE (meal-ready-to-eat) you manage to get for the tuna noodle casserole or cheese tortellini, and add Tabasco to everything. This gives some flavor. Talk to your loved ones as often as you are permitted; it won't nearly be long enough or often enough, but take what you can get and be thankful for it. You may have picked up on the fact that I disagree with most of the points you present in your opened piece. But, tomorrow from KABUL, I will defend to the death your right to say it. You see, I am an American fighting man, a guarantor of your First Amendment rights and every other right you cherish. On a daily basis, my brother and sister soldiers worldwide ensure that you and people like you can thumb your collective nose at us, all on a salary that is nothing short of pitiful and under conditions that would make most people cringe. We hemorrhage our best and brightest into the private sector because we can't offer the stability and pay of civilian companies. And you, Ms. Williams, have the gall to say that we make more than we deserve? Rubbish! A1C Michael Bragg Hill AFB AFNCC "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

Okay, we can take it one step further... No WMD that have been found but what about all the long range fire power that he wasn't supposed to have? Example: the long range missle that hit near the mall in Kuwait? "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

"This is good stuff. Our kids are so busy taking standardized tests that they are not taught the responsibility of being an American nor the cost." Wow that's another whole thread... Instead of teaching kids the material, the teachers spend half the year teaching the kids the test. Responsibility, well that's another issue. Despite most parents best efforts to teach this fastly fading trait characteristic our society keeps telling us and our children that nothing is their fault and they shouldn't suffer any consequences. It's the parents fault, it's the teachers fault, it's society or the government..Never the childs fault... Thus giving us such a good base of responsible citizens in the first place! Cost, there is a cost to be an American? I thought everything was a right in this country! I deserve everything without making an effort to earn it myself, or heaven forbid even remotely deserve it.. It's my responsibility to have to buy my kid a car at age 16, a cell phone by age 12, designer clothes and shoes! My poor kids should be considered underprivileged, as they actually know what these things cost, because I made them do chores and earn the money for what they have received. Taught responsibility, even if it hurt a little bit.. Wow I'm a child abuser.. Report me! Wendy, I think i got the kitchen sink and the disposal in on that one. Funny as heck... It's amazing how people are so ready to believe an unproven theory and throw the tried and true out the window. Don't get me wrong, I've Indian ancestors and my Grandmother told me about a lot of the "old ways" and medicines they used when she was young and growing up. But she would be the first to tell you what a miracle it is to be able to take a shot or a pill to prevent the mumps, German measles, and polio. Come on people, why take a step backwards, a 50 year step... "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

Another disease on the rise is TB... Especially in the southern states... Again, such simple tests to help monitor and medications to treat, yet it's a threat. My favorite about the flu shot though is how everyone gets the flu from it because so many believe it's still from a live virus. Believe me I get achiness from them myself, but with a history of borderline diabetes and working in medical setting for a number of years it was worth it. I had worse reaction to a Tetnus shot a few years back. Couldn't lift my arm for a week. "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

Like Gemini stated, Ali had a long fight, but he stayed here and fought. Even if some chose to stay here and be jailed, at least they didn't turn tail and run trying to avoid service. I can have more respoect for someone who served their time, even if I don't agree with why they made their decision. I wonder what would have happened all these years later if those DDs were extradited and serve their time. "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller
