Beach jumps are fun but it is a very tight and sometimes delicate landing environment. You have to watch out for people walking out in front of you when you're landing. Since it is a public beach (not a sterile DZ landing area) you never know what's going to happen and some people (especially kids)think they should run up and "catch you" while your flaring. Bad deal! 2 weeks ago I had to turn as I was flaring to miss a women and her kid. They were sitting on the beach and got up and ran to the water just as I was getting ready to land. I think your idea has a lot of potential and I would love to attend a meet like this. I am sure there are plenty of ways (jump #'s, ratings, previous team experience, etc) to establish some type of criteria in order to compete. I think it would be cool just to be a spectator. Let the games begin!

I don't see why people have to put up the roadside memorials. They are a distraction and become an eyesore. I think it would be a fun to have an event like that but it might be dangerous. Imagine a belly flyer trying to compete in a FF/Headown event and they have never even been in a sit. I haven't done any CRW and I won't want to try and learn it at an event like that.
