  1. Well I was waiting for 3 years for someone to go with but all my friends were either too scared or too poor so I just got sick of waiting and went. This was 4 weeks ago and since then I have made 22 jumps and should have my A license this weekend. I have all my own gear now too except a helmet & goggles. I just love skydiving and am even going to the WFFC in a week. Luckily I only live 3 hours. I really can't wait to BASE jump. That is really a big reason why I started skydiving. Hopefully I'll be taking the BASE jumping class with Johnny Utah next spring. Well just wanted to say what up. If you want to read about my 1st malfunction read my other post about loose toggle in freefall lol it was quite a rush. Wasn't really sure what to do. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1179288;search_string=loose%20toggle;#1179288
  2. I had this happen last weekend. I was jumping a dolphin container that I just bought off the senior rigger and let this dude pack it that had only packed like 20 times. I don't know how to pack yet since I just started jumping 3 weeks ago and wanted to get back in the air so I just let him pack it. It came out when I was just screwing around flying on my back. I was at about 7k so I grab and I have no idea what I should really do. I keep my eye on my altimeter and flip back over at 5 and chuck it out and pull. It opened into a bad spin and I was like "shit, looks like i'm gonna have my first cutaway." Well I just grab my toggles and pull em down and it was just because obviously one of the brakes got released early. It was quite a rush though. The rigger is now putting secondary riser covers on just for shits & giggles since he said it was the packers fault. Makes me feel a lot better though. I'm thinking of just sending my dolphin in to get all the freefly friendly updates. I guess I'll see what I think about his secondary riser protection first.
