Please push tandem student, literally?

like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIyxHL2Og3Y -
A navigator also has a tapered edge. You could call that semi-eliptical if you wanted. I'm not sure what exactly causes the spinning. I've had a good 7 or 8 line twists on a Sabre 2 170 that flew perfectly straight, and only 2 line twists on a Sabre 1 170 (rectangular) that had me turning. I think it's more just uneven risers than the twists themselves.

I once told a whuffo that the grippers are to help the paramedics pick us up.

But doesn't everything in freefall fall at the same speed?

"If you want to know what spending a weekend at a skydiving boogie feels like you need merely take all your money out of the bank and burn it. Then snort the ashes into your nose and mouth, throw yourself down the stairs a couple times and then drink until you pass out in the yard in a pile of dirty clothes. You'll feel just like you spent the weekend boogieing, without all the hassle of traveling to a dropzone and doing that skydivin' and partying stuff." - Zing

Can you explain the basics of how the dive is engineered in terms of exit order and such? Speed formations are something that's always interested me. I'm especially interested in the floater's jobs as every speed star I've done has been the "Cutaway" type.

Freeflying makes you a better belly flyer?
jheadley replied to RB_Hammer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
From what I've seen, people who make their first 200 jumps or so on their belly (doing RW), and then the next 200 freeflying, are actually better freeflyers than someone who has only done straight freeflying. The reason being (I'm sure I'll get flamed for this), is that not just "belly flying" but RW teaches one from the start to plan a dive, dive the plan, and have an actual goal to try to accomplish. A freefly dirt-dive typically is something like this "ok we'll launch a train and then we'll fly around sort of near each other, and break at 5". That's a little over-generalized but you get what I mean. If someone can learn the basics of RW, especially get into the RW mindset of trying to actually improve your skill, and then they translate that to freeflying, they'll stop freeflailing and truly start to freefly. -
Where's the pictures and video of the world record peltway? Both attempts

You crushed my fantasy

Only one team has ever done a sub-10

I'll be up early friday afternoon. Working on my pelt head now... It should be a little different from others if I can pull it off...

Would you install non-original equipment on a rig?
jheadley replied to PhreeZone's topic in Gear and Rigging
Mel, say a rig came into your loft with some non-certified part altered. For example, Infinity risers on an Icon, or an aftermarket pilot chute. Would you refuse to work on it? -
Did you have an RSL?

Don't forget the Georgia clique also. Has anyone ever tried to keep track of all the people who posted a "goodbye forever" thread and then came back a week later? I've lost count.

The real reason freeflyers always wear open face helmets is so they can wear their hot Gatorz and look cool for the 4 other people filming them. If you're going to freefly with a full face, I'd suggest a Factory Diver. My Oxygn visor got ripped off by the wind while in a stand once. I nearly have to wear a full face. Every time I try to jump in goggles, my contacts come out.

What about hedgehogs?

what's the policy regarding pets at the dz?

I never watched the show as a kid but actually thought this movie was pretty fun. I thought there was way too much product placement in it (at times it seemed just like a 2 hour long commerical for GM) and the final action scene drug on too long (they always do) but overall pretty entertaining.

I love donnie darko but the director's cut definitely does suck.

I don't think I want to come anymore

Landed off??....Let's hear about it!
jheadley replied to kturnau's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've had 8 off landings but my most memorable definitely has to be the time I tried to put my canopy down in a back yard. A low turn and downwind landing turned it into a swoop through the back yard, through the side yard, just missing the propane tank, through the front yard, across a 2 lane road, under powerlines, and into another person's front yard before I shut it down for a stand up landing. A blonde woman in a corvette gave me a ride back to the dz. Many lessons learned on that jump, but that's for another thread... -
I triple that! He just made the rating evaluation course the most fun I ever have had in skydiving - it was truly an awesome experience. I quadruple that. Bram and Elly are awesome. I recommend them to anyone who wants a rating. You must watch Goldmember before taking a course from him. The entire course I was fighting back laughter listening to him talk.

I admit I've done that too a few times and had great openings from it, but I definitely would never do it again. With all that loose line, it'd be easy for it to wrap around a flap and cause an entanglement. At least with freebags the pouch contains it.

This isn't exactly what you're looking for but it's still a good picture and it makes you think.

I was at the Orlando tunnel one time when I overheard people talking about the legal whorehouses in Nevada. One guy said something like "I'd never do that, it's way too expensive, it's like 300 dollars an hour!"
