I had another thought about this and a closer look at the TG box on the cookie web site. See attached file to see details for the adaption. I guess this will work. Good luck

I haven't had the cookie box for the TG in hands yet but maybe this helps: http://www.rcb-lab.com/images/downloads/insertinstall.pdf

Hi Tom, got one here, very nice tool. Bruno (Brokken) jumps one since some time and is very happy with it. You can easily screw it to your flat top surface without Zkulls, no problem. You can then remove the front mounted stills including bracket when you don't jump it. Just one thing (and this depends on the video camera that you are using). If your camera has the attachment screw thread (the 1/4") far towards the outline of the camera, the set up will not be centered. This is the case for the CX6,7,11,12. This problem can be avoided for those that have a ZkullsTM on top.
-
Here is another example for your project. Just be aware that you'll have the weight further in front. Some like that, some don't. This set up with the HC5 works fine down to .3., with CX7/12 down to .45 (with a XT, XTI on the front, standard short lense). http://www.rcb-lab.com/index.php/dual-mount

the camera can rotate 90º, 180º, angle 10º up and down, and point backwards if used on a Zkulls attachment. See pics. I think it would not be difficult to screw a second cage (rotated 180º) to the first one to get both images if someone wants to do that but ... $$$ ... Cameras + Cages ?
-
If I understand your comment correct, doesn't it depend if you film to the right or left? One side will always give you an upside down image. I think, the best option is then to have the screen accessable and the same time the possibility to change the camera to normal image clicked to the left side of the helmet??
-
Some pictures of the new Zkulls Cage Bracket. 90º flip is possible for wingsuit flyers. Also Upside down for FF coaching or FF competition.

have you got a valid link for "fiber zone composites"?

2 pieces, top mount plate + front mount bracket. A ZkullsTM attaches the top mount plate to the helmet. The L bracket of the stills attaches with Zkulls to the top mount plate. Complete system removes by removing top plate. From the shelve ( http://www.rcb-lab.com/zkulls46.htm ) an older version but similar to the actual one.

This is HC5 on top of CC1 and a D5 on front. HC5 with Royal .5 no problem. Royal .3 possible with stills set up lower down but takes some vision. With Diabolo this set up should be no problem.

The setup is very nice. Just a comment you might not have thought about. It looks to me like you could accidently trigger the swith of the Hypeeye with the yoke of your container when bringing your head back. During flat fall, especially when filming from underneath the formation level or tandem, you might be restricted with head movement. With this solution, you also have to run more cable inside the shell, which could annoy with tight fitted helmets. Holes drilled into a camera box instead of in the helmet shell won't affect resale value of the helmet. Changing the video camera for a stills or another type camera won't remove the cables and hypeeye D Pro from the helmet.
-
Clean professional job, looks nice. One more thought for those that work on a solutions to integrate the Hypeeye D Pro in the box: Make sure the "AV debrief port" does not face towards the helmet shell. Cabelling of the Hypeeye (inside the box) has to allow that the AV port is accessable.
-
Nice. Could you post a picture with the camera attached to the helmet? How far does the box stick out to the front and back?
-
in case you thought about a solution for this, here is one.

For exact info I can weight it next time I have the helmet in hands but it is not heavy at all. The heaviest component I guess is the huge 970 batery pack. Using a 570 will reduce size and weight. The helmet is a Tonfly Carbon Fiber CC1 (700gr), the arm is made from aluminium and the 2.5" screen is light as well. The helmet is also equipped with a 2way comunication system (incl. radio unit) and all in all I would say about 2 KG (including a CX7). When I get a chance I will weight it.
-
The cost for the system? Not much. You get the screen (ikan V2500) from "adorama" for 89$. power supply including battery is about 70$. The arm to attach to your helmet (any ZkullsTM equipped helmet) you get from RCB-Lab for 39,00€. Add shipping and that's it. Total I would say about 240 US$

it's not so much the blind spot as the screen is in the bottom part of the vision (above chincup). I see more of a problem with catching lines. It might be (???) usefull to film crew or canopy flocking. The fact that you can control the frame (when zooming) brings new possibilities for creative footage.
-
Using zoom while filming needs a visual control of the frame. Attached pictures show a solution. The image on the screen is easy to see and even when looking into sunlight the screen is visible. The arm that holds a batery pack, screen and comunication system can be easily disconnected from the helmet. Also the angle can be changed to have the screen further up or down in the field of vision. This helmet is used to film rallye cars from a paramotor.

Can't you do it the same as here: http://www.rcb-lab.com/download/cameyeinstall.pdf
-
There was a slight problem with some units of the first batches. Since then the system has changed a lot in details and there is 0 play in them now. Babylon Freefly team has helped a lot with getting them perfectly right, flying at high speed in all kinds of angles. The manufacturing company replaces systems that have a silver pin for new ones (golden pin). Best contact info@rcb-lab.com about this.

check here: http://www.rcb-lab.com/dealer.htm 2KComposites is dealer in yhe UK

PC style cam is usually mounted on left side of helmet with plug socket facing towards helmet (or bracket). To download images or to put them on a screen you need access to the socket. With extension lead leave the camera mounted on the helmet and plug into the extension lead. ... and yes, you could make it yourself ... a hamburger also but I will still get it from McD ;-)

See if you can order them from www.skyrats.com. They are in europe but if you choose shipping by postal service it can't be expensive. Little weight and small.

As enthusiastic camera flyer I thought you might like to check out following web page. Base plates also for heavier stills cameras, brackets for vertical photography, brackets for upside down filming, splitable camera switches and other new and different freefall camera equipment. Check it out www.RCB-Lab.com
