Thats probably what the original poster meant by "Pilot chutes out the odor"

Another key point: In the unlikely case that the ball misses the skydiver aimed at, where (or rather on whom) will it descend. Imagine landing with an empty gun, in a multicolored crowd of angry spectators... ;-)

I agree with not insisting on being stable before deploying the reserve. What about the other reason, is that a valid reason for no RSL?
-
Thanks for the replies - I'll see if it feels OK without the extension.

This is NOT a pro vs psycho thread, just a simple (?) question: Will I have to extend the bridle inside the bag if I want to psychopack instead of propack? It seems to me that there is a long way from the middle of the roll to the grommet in the bag.

There seems to be one category missing: I was paralyzed, but luckily in the correct position to get a perfectly stable exit It lasted until 10 secs freefall where my unyielding bodyposition produced a rocking motion that haunted me for at least 12 jumps.

Get some coaching and/or jump with the best RW persons who'll jump with you! The best jumps for you will be the ones where everyone is better than you - working like hell to make you look good - and hopefully explaining to you afterwards what went wrong and why. Remember to buy the and maybe to pave the way for repeat performances. I still jump with the best (when they'll let me )

Avoid the infamous ball-under malfunction for the first couple of weeks

Question to Skydivers from EU Member Countries
morten replied to michal.k's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
In Denmark a C-license permits you to jump without the an instructor on site. -
I'll aim for the tunnel - but I'll still look for 3 other fat guys to have fun with

Simple Question: What body position will result in the lowest fallrate belly-to-earth-wise? I'm 183 cm and approx. 110 kg exitweight. I understand that dearching will lower my fallrate, but What about the arms and legs - bent at the elbows and knees or more like e big X? My 'neutral' fallrate is approx 205 km/h - most of my buddies will fall around 190. Eventuelly I'll get some coaching on the subject, but until then, ideas anyone?

I don't know about jumping after coffee, but surely you are not fit to pack a parachute after drinking coffee. http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=11067 Most of my professional work is done under the influence of said stimulant.

Thank you. I've had it for 18 months, only seen it once, during repack.

Can't seem to find it anywhere. Probably not looking in the right places!

Static line - My Wife gave me the first jump course as a 38 year birthday present. She thought that when I'd tried it then that was it. Not so. If she'd given me at tandem then I might have stayed out of skydiving because of the cost of the FJC. One good thing though: It has kept me out of hanggliding - so far Never tried the tandem. Or the military for that matter.

Thanks for the replies - I'll assume the rule holds. I'm referring to sustainable sink rate - obviously the sink rate at landing approaches zero ideally The reason for the post was my first experiences with the canopy: Last out of cessna - hop'n'pop at 5000 feet - first down although everybody else did at least 10-12 secs freefall. I'd like to be able to sort of park myself at a higher altitude to let the others land in the 'correct' order. Again thanks for the replies - I love dropzone.com

I fly a Sabre-2 at 1.4 lbs/sqft. I've been told that the lowest sink rate is obtained at maximum brakes - just prior to the stall. Does that assumption hold? Always?
