  1. Were the jumpers in the animation moveable as in did they move legs and arms or were they static? Did they move vertically as well as horizontally? It wouldn't be all that hard to take 372 copies of a skydiver model and animate the dive horizontally without them moving limbs. If they did vertical as well or had them moving their control surfaces that would be very impressive. Anyway I could get my hands on the file? Know what format it was in? Greenie in training.
  2. If you your instructor aware that you do not want to flip on exit I am sure you will not. It will make it much easier for them to do that if you do you job and arch like you are told but even if you get sensory overload and forget they can most likely prevent a loop. As for the exit it will depend largely on what type of plane you jump from and which instructor you jump with. Greenie in training.
  3. It's not just the pilot that is responsible. The FAA places responsibility on the jumper(s), pilot, drop zone owner, manifester, riggers, mechanics, or anybody (or corporate entity) involved in the "parachute operation." See article 13 (FAA Regulations Applied, on The Ranch web site at: http://ranchskydive.com/safety/index.htm Yes, you are correct, I didn't realize it was worded the way it is. Greenie in training.
  4. If you want serious responses to your questions it helps to fill in your profile info. Also do exactly as dave mentioned, take it to a reputable rigger for inspection he may even be willing to give you his opinion on the price, The other main concern would be how many jumps the main has on it and when if ever it has been relined. Greenie in training.
  5. You could jump everyday if your local dropzone jumps all week long and has instructors there everyday. I doubt that is the case though, most likely your jumps will be done durring the weekend and you can get in a few each day on sat-sun if you are progressing well. Greenie in training.
  6. OK, ignoring the question of whether this is a parachute operaion on not. aren't you able to get around that by droppign over an unihabited area. I thought that that was how Eloy got around chucking stuff out the back of their tailgaters. -Blind From what I understand the pilot is responsible for any object that leaves his plane during flight. A skyball is a perfect example, if it went in and killed someone on the ground he is responsible not the jumpers who were using it. So, that being said he can drop whatever he wants out of the plane but if it damages someone's property or hurts someone the pilot is liable. Greenie in training.
  7. That is exactly right. It is legal to drink and it is not legal to smoke pot. This is not speakers corner and we will not get into a debate about smoking pot, that is not the issue at hand. [replyi couldn't live with myself if i participated in that pathetic industry-driven farce. that rig will be in your closet weeping for its true owner, and you'll never get any good sleep again. just my 2 cents. So it would be better off in someone else's closet where it has no chance of getting back to it's original owner? Greenie in training.
  8. I think missy has the right idea for the next "vision" for the sport. Check it out here. Greenie in training.
  9. I really don't think hw would be happy specially if you were on of the cops doing the raid If he was one of the cops doing the raid he was just doing his job. Being a drug dealer is risky business and you stand to lose a lot if you get caught. I for one know if I was doing that and someone saved my rig and at least offered to sell it back to me cheap when I got out I would be ecstatic. For instance if he gets it for 15% of what it is worth at 4000$ he is getting it for 600$. If when the jumper got out he offered it to him for the 600$ he paid you think that jumper has a right to be mad? Edit to add the math. Greenie in training.
  10. Ouch, I feel for you there man. I hadn't jumped for like a month and a half until last monday. Bear in mind just because it is cold doesn't mean there is no one jumping. As long as the clouds and wind are reasonable there will probably be some hardcore jumpers out. Greenie in training.
  11. It still wouldn't be a parachute jump, and therefore it isn't under USPAs umbrella. If he is wearing a rig and presumeably jumping at a USPA member dropzone then it is a parachute jump even if he doesn't deploy. Greenie in training.
  12. Go for it man. I am sure he would rather have a local jumper get it for cheap than someone else. If he comes back when he gets out you can discuss what to do about it. Greenie in training.
  13. No DZ's close to you jump on nice weekends? Greenie in training.
  14. So if this is the case, and this stunt is announced and planned, you don't think the FAA will say anything about it? Do you think they will just let it happen? Some good debate here. I think they have to let it happen. They might try to fight it but they have no footing to do so. As long as he has on a TSO'd rig and reserve he is following their rules. Greenie in training.
  15. No offense bro but it would be way better to offer to meet her at a boogie or somewhere neutral. I know for sure if my sister got on a plane to hawaii with a stranger I would be extremely pissed. I am sure most girls would not feel comfortable with the proposition you made without meeting you beforehand. Greenie in training.
  16. Yeah, I am a big fan of deviantart been thinking about getting a good camera so I can participate. I really like your water droplet picture was that touched up with photoshop or did they really have that haze around them? Greenie in training.
  17. I just need to PW, I would post a pic but I am stuck at work on a saturday! Greenie in training.

  19. That IS the best cyber guitar i ever .. um read. Do you play here often ? I'm sensing a James Brown influence. Uhhh-huh, get some of that, baby! "I'll be here 'til Thursday! Try the veal, tip your waitress! Thank you, goodnight!" I think I have it beat but I would have to do it in tab form Greenie in training.
  20. That was great, and I would love to see the other one seems like you have a very talented family. Greenie in training.
  21. Congrats and good luck! If I remember right he was wanting to do an adventure getaway type company that did things like white water rafting, rock climbing things of that nature. I could have him confused with someone else though. Greenie in training.
  22. Not a bad idea dave, but I can't imagine an MSF course full of paris hilton clones with designer heels and purses throwing on the helmets and riding around the parking lot. I would however like to teach that course as long as the bikes weren't mine Greenie in training.
  23. When I went it cost 50$ for admission to just the one auction you could pay a higher fee and have like a year pass to all of them. You may be thinking of dealer auctions which are another ballgame alltogether, I was talking about government auctions of siezed property. Greenie in training.
  24. The connector on a laptop drive looks just like a PCI card connector only smaller it is not pins like a normal hard drive so if the USB adapter is not for a laptop HD specifically it will not work. Greenie in training.
