God damnit! I was out of town and didn't know it was a 90 minute episode. My Tivo didn't record it cuz it overlapped with something else. Anyone got it? "At 13,000 feet nothing else matters." PFRX!!!!! Team Funnel #174, Sunshine kisspass #109 My Jump Site

Nice pics, eeneR!

I just had my first plane ride down last weekend. My jumping buddy did a pin check on me and couldn't tell if my pc was cocked. I was pretty sure it was, but better safe than sorry. So I got to ride down with Rook in the cockpit. It was actually a very nice ride, quite interesting being on final in an airplane instead of under canopy!

Me three, and Steve V. was the cameraman on our TFX 10-way team. I've got you guys beat! Dave was my first TM, and my instructor for most of my AFP jumps. Steve flew camera for my first tandem video. Jenny flew camera for my friend who did her first tandem with me on my second. And Sarah was my coach for the New Wave Boogie. So there!

Right. I like that attitude. No maybe, I AM going to work for them. It's Walgreens corporate. They have a massive software development operation, they do all their own stuff in-house. Lots of opportunites and awesome benefits. Right now I work for a tiny little software company with shitty benefits and no advancement potential. Yuck. And they treat everyone like shit. HehHeh I know, I've got to control my myself. (Especially cuz I'm still at my shitty job.) But hopefully they'll like my enthusiasm.

OMG, I am so excited, I can hardly stand it!! I have been applying to this company for over 3 months. They have the perfect opportunity for me, and I love their corporate culture, too. THEY FINALLY CALLED!! I CAN'T FUCKING BELIEVE IT!! It was my last cover letter, she loved it!! She said it was great that I was so passionate about the company even before working there. She thinks I am an excellent fit for the position and is going to talk with the manager. Ok, I MUST get this job!! I've gotta get out of this shithole where I am! Everyone please send me lots of good luck vibes!!! WOO-HOO!!! They finally called!!!

Hey FL peeps! Can someone give me a recommendation for a nice Italian restaurant in/around Orlando? Its my anniversary and we'll be down there on vacation next weekend. I'm looking for an upscale place with really great pasta. Thanks!

Well, thats what I am trying to figure out. I think they basically treated this more like a rental. I didn't tell them that I was looking to buy one. It was definitely cheaper than renting an entire rig from them so I guess thats fine. But I think maybe they should just say its a rental instead of charging for a demo, since it sounds like most of the fee for a demo is usually to cover shipping, which doesn't apply in this case. If I remember correctly though, the Icarus price includes shipping whereas the PD price is just the canopy. When I did it the two figures worked out almost exactly the same. Well mine didn't involve shipping because I got the demo from our gear shop. They have a permanent collection of Icarus demo's cuz they are a factory-authorized service provider or whatever. Thats actually why I was wondering about prices -- since I got mine from our gear shop I was wondering if its cheaper to go directly thru the mfr. "At 13,000 feet nothing else matters." PFRX!!!!! Ditto here. You will start looking down when you aren't focused so much on performing for your instructor. Especially when theres no instructor there, then you've got lots of time to look down! I actually got ground rush on my 1st solo -- at 5 grand! I even wondered for a split-second if my alti was still working. I just wasn't used to having all that "free" time! Awww, bummer! Guess I shoulda got a PD! I paid double that for 2 weekends. Well now I just hope the weather cooperates and I can put more jumps on it next weekend and get my money's worth!! "At 13,000 feet nothing else matters." PFRX!!!!! Team Funnel #174, Sunshine kisspass #109 My Jump Site

I used a demo canopy this weekend (brand new Safire2!), and I was just wondering if what I paid is the norm for this. So.... How much did you pay for a main demo canopy and how long did you get to keep it for that price? "At 13,000 feet nothing else matters." PFRX!!!!! Team Funnel #174, Sunshine kisspass #109 My Jump Site

0: 2: 2 Boy, it sure was nice to be back in my own rig!!

Sounds like you learned alot from your chop. I had mine just a few weeks ago, and I definitely had some good lessons learned as well. My reserve ride was very similiar to yours in that I was very lightly loaded under my reserve (Tempo 170) and I got blown off the dz as well. I had to bury the toggles just to get turned around, and it took forever. Everyone on the ground was wondering why I was "flying away" from the dz, but they didn't realize I was doing my damndest to get back and just couldn't!! When I have the money I'm going to be investing in a smaller reserve so that next time I can actually steer that thing. I would just like to add about the waiting for RSL -- like many others said -- please don't do that next time. That was interesting, though, that you said it took forever to work. In my chop, I did a 2-handed pull on red, and as I was pulling silver, I was already under my reserve thanks to my RSL. It was very fast. I did pull silver, though, cuz that handle was gone along with everything else. (Unfortunately, unlike you, I never found any of my stuff. ) Anyway, thanks for sharing and I'm glad it all worked out okay.

That's cool, nice pics! I would love to try a tracking dive, but I, too, would be worried about crashing into anyone. I'm also wondering if I could keep my heading for that long. Hopefully I'll get to try it one of these days and find out!
