Considering that you write like a 5 year old child, I doubt that you are capable of learning anything. Still unemployed? Fail again At no time in the last 40 years have I not been employed. See! Still nothing learned from you Your profile states that you are 'still looking.' If you are employed, why would you lie on a profile? Are you so embarrassed of your job that you would not state in your profile what you do for a living? Maybe, your a top secret troll and divulging such information may endanger your life, liberty and, happiness? Please dont stop I am enjoying this But Still looking for a career does not mean still looking for a job But it does refer to the very big variation of job types I have had in last 25 years As kallend loves to point out, I work for a medium size investor owned gas and electric distribution company The parent company also own coal, gas and wind generation So, the trolling being done in this thread is not by me But please, dont stop This is fun At 55yo you are still looking for a career? Nothing wrong with that. I've only worked for two companies since leaving the Navy in 1984. Hussmann Refrigeration and Sperry Rail Service. I did weld pipeline for a bit after leaving Sperry in 94 before returning to Hussmann. Hussmann sent my job to Mexico. I wrenched on Harleys for awhile and then returned to Sperry. Been back in the NDT game for 4 years now. Sucks be away from home for months at a time. I am proud of my ability to find defective rail that can kill a train. However, as a career choice, I would not recommend it. I hope to get time off to get my CWI certification and move into the pipeline weld inspection field. Again, that will mean little time at home. He works for a company that admits dumping some 30 MILLION tons of CO2 into our atmosphere every year. Does that explain something? Being that he lives in Milford, IA, must be NuStar Energy. My little buddy, Cat Charlemagne of 18 years. He recently had to go on thyroid medication. He stopped eating and lost a lot of weight (he has always been a little guy.) Wife says he is back to being his old self, part Persian, part Maine Coon, part pig. Love this little guy. Do you know what the individual components of the soul? Hint, hint, there is no soul therefore, no components. I must agree with Andy, you are starting to creep me out. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

You should learn how to properly phrase a title. "More guns, fewer cops die!" tends to lead one to believe that your assumption is that more guns contributed to less police deaths. Your title is misleading and has zero to do with the article. Go figure! "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

I take it that you read (or had someone read for you) no further than the header. No where in the article did it credit the lower rate to an increase in gun ownership. What was credited is this: I take from this article that more officers would be dead if not for what was stated by the NLOEMF. Go figure! You really should learn to read a full article before posting. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

You forgot wife beater, child abuser and, drunkard. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

Had my hopes up for a second there . You should had put Canadian citizenship in the header. What a tease you Canucks are. Oh well, back to testing rail down here in the wasteland known as Texas. At least, I am out of Laredo. Hebbronville tonight. Not much better. Maybe Texas will recede and Cruz can be El Presidente of the Wastelands and all will be good again. Oh, one can only dream! Wrong again But then, we already have them BTW I do know there are way to many liberal left anti gun loonies Does that count? I am the conservatives worst nightmare, a gun loving liberal Actually, you are a gun hating Liberal's worst nightmare. Hell, I just can't win Hey, I think you are a winner!

This is really cool. Most do not think of time in this fashion. Where we come from and where we are going. Our start and demise is just a blink. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XkV6IpV2Y0 Any thoughts on this? "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Marc, I agree with you but, may I add, I think it deals more with action-reaction argument and rational expectation. Did Robertson expect a reaction to his action? Did Disney expect a reaction to their action? If the answers are yes then, yes it is manufactured and each side got what they expected to get. If the answers are no then, each side was blindsided by the reaction and did not expect the fallout. I suspect that each side expected the reaction that came out from their actions therefore, this was all manufactured. Hell, just look at the ratings and the money that is being gained. It is a win-win on both sides. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

Well, it's either tolerate reality or, back to the matrix! "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

That is in the sense of the amplitude modulation. In A-Scan we view indications in RF (on my oscilloscope and hand test scope.) Very much the same. However, the B-scan, dependent on A-scan, is a profile view that paints the flight of time of the sound beam along the vertical axis and the transducer along the horizontal (the trig function) on my screens. The A-scan allows us to set up gates in order to trap signals that are strong enough to trigger a response to view the reflector on the B-scan display (where the spatial transformation occurred.) These signal are dependent on the size of the reflector. It is not fool proof as actual defects can be masked by surface conditions that cause a rayleigh wave that will cancel out the shear wave. In light of all of this, it is pretty close to the same in the sense of the A-scan. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

I would totally use that time to walk the streets and look for a cowboy dressed in white linen. The Vine selfie would be worth it. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

The spatial transformation that my test equipment was experiencing last Wednesday made no sense. You see, the bolt hole fencelets were printing out in irregular patterns on the rail profiles on my screens. The order in which they paint on the screen is dependent on a trig function. The function is set in motion by way of the encoder which sets up the time base as the the truck moves along the tracks. As sound is introduced into the rail it will continue to move in the angle that it was first introduced. When the beam encounters a reflector, it will return along the same path. Problem being the bolt hole print outs were spaced to far apart. At times they were even crossing opposite in relation to the position of the transducers that fired the bangs. Now, often the problem lies in the encoder head. Being that this piece of equipment is very sensitive, one may consider replacing it. I did and still the problem reoccurred. Next in order is the gear drive that connects to the hi-rail wheel by way of a drive belt. Slippage in the drive can cause spatial transformation. I did not believe that this was causing the problem as there was no slippage when spun by hand. I just could not understand why my fencelets were experiencing this transformation. It was not making any sense. Then it dawned on me! I was seeing the light. Halleluiah! Praise his name! It was the goddamn set screw that holds the drive to the encoder shaft. It was old and worn out and was allowing the encoder shaft to slip as the truck gained speed. Damn, if only I had an imaginary friend it would had all made perfect sense in the beginning. PRAISE BE TO THE LORD OF CRITICAL ANGLE! Can I get an AMEN!! Pass the hat, pastor needs a new Cadillac! "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." I have nothing better to do as I am trapped in a hotel in Laredo, TX. At least I have Ron to keep me entertained. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

The money is good. Hoping to take some time off come summer and get my CWI certification. Having been a 6G welder and being a level II in several areas in NDT, the CWI is the bonus feather. I'll be able to take a job elsewhere. Possibly pipeline weld inspection. My brother in law is currently inspecting pipeline and has thrown me some leads. Tired of the railroad bullshit. You are so full of it and only cherry pick what fits for you and ignore the rest. The bible is a bullshit book full of lies. I hold you invalid! You know not what you are talking about. I have read that awful book from cover to cover. I am sorry for the time I lost. No magical friend as ever died for a sin that I was born into. What kind of deity would allow that of his creation. Not very loving is he. May I quote Twain? 'God, so atrocious in the Old Testament, so attractive in the New -- the Jekyl and Hyde of sacred romance.' -- Mark Twain, Notebook (1904) Your deity is a sinner, a rapist, a murderer and, a child abuser. Twain is right by saying, "If there is a God, he is a malign thug." You need to get a grasp on reality. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." I was ready to head back to Missouri to be with my wife when at the last second the main office called and told me that they want me to stay in Laredo, TX and test rail on the 23rd and 26th through the 31rst for the KCS RR. Take the 1rst off and back on the 2nd. Meanwhile, the asshats are letting me know that they are going to have the best christmas party yet and hope that everyone can join in and wish the company leaders a great christmas. Fuck them and the KCS RR. No bonuses, no christmas dinner. No nothing. This coming from a company that has went above the 100,000,000.00 mark a couple of months back. Big bonuses for those at the top. A big fuck you to those who spend more than six months at a time away from home and family. It will be near 9 months when I finally do get home. That is if they don't yank my vacation like they did all of this last year. I was able to get three days to go see my doctor early this year. been without meds for six months. Do they care? Fuck no. All that matters to those who have never spent one day out here on the rails is the almighty dollar and their six figure bonuses. I wish them nothing more than a big fuck you. Nothing merry about being stuck in a hotel in a crappy town like Laredo. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
