My beer jump on a Spectre was the same thing. I got my hands up on the risers, and started counting, thinking "It's got until I get to five before I cut it away." After my student canopy, it sure felt like it took forever to open!

Thanks guys! I loved my instructor (my best friend even before I began jumping), but she got pregnant soon after I solo'd, and I've done virtually nothing but solo's since AFF. I've been too shy to ask strangers to jump with me. I'll make sure to find you this weekend.

I'm here in Florida, but brand new so I'm still jumpin' by myself mostly. Of course, if anyone who is going to be at Z-Hills on Saturday wants to help me change that, I'd be more than grateful!

I promise.

I am a practicing lawyer. I graduated law school five years ago and have been doing trial work ever since. I did not take a prep course before taking the LSAT, as going to law school was sort of a last minute decision when I decided that med school was probably too much work. I did well on the test (164), but I've always done well on that type of thing, so consider that when you are deciding what to do. If you take tests well, and read very well, then I would recommend buying the book. If not, take the course.

I just made my contribution to keep things rolling. -
I was 13. Whatever. But my son turned 3 on 3-3-03. That was cool.

I got my new Pro-Track today. I sent them one that had a broken screen, and figured they would just say the screen was shot and that I would need to buy a new one. Not only did they replace the entire unit, but they got it back to me in time for me to give it to my husband as a Christmas gift (just like they promised.)

I did my pre-second helicopter jump at Z-Hills Saturday too. I told everyone about it, even my whuffo friends and family. That has to have been the most fun I've had on a jump since my first four way after getting my A license. -
As a girl with rather short arms, I was taught my EP's with me grabbing each handle with both hands, two hands on red, looking at silver, then two hands on silver after cutting away. It would be imprudent of me to hinder my grip on the silver worrying about keeping the cutaway pillow. Hopefully, it will be a long time before I find out if I keep the silver.

Prayers and vibes to you and that adorable little one. Each time I cuddle one of mine, I will send a thought his way.

Know just how you feel. I got mine last week. Congratulations.

She's georgeous. Enjoy her as much as you can. They grow quickly, and her parents will probably love any help they can get.

Finished all the requirements for my A today at Lake Wales. It was great to get it done on the first full weekend of jumping since Charley. Thanks so much to everyone out there. I didn't expect to finish today, so I'll pay my beer fine tomorrow. I can finally play with others now.

If he's up and running, send him home. I miss him.

That's not wholly accurate. If you die without a will, any non-exempt assets will go through probate. Probate does not equal the State getting the assets, though. Any claims will be settled, and then the remainder will be divided, pursuant to your states statutes, among heirs. It is only if the debts of the estate exceed the value of the non-exempt assets that heirs would not receive anything.

Florida is also a "no-fault" state when it comes to medical bills in auto accidents, but that only goes so far. Once the bills exceed your maximum limit, which depends on your individual coverage, the other party could be liable for covering your bills. Also, again depending on your coverage, your policy may only cover a percentage of the bills, after a deductable. The other driver's insurance might cover the portion not paid by your insurance. Check to see if your state's laws are similar to these.

Scuba before jumping is a no-no. I believe the other way around is fine.

Orange screwdriver. Wonder what that means?

husband and wife jumping together
tsampson replied to rickjump1's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My husband and I don't jump together right now, but it sure is tempting. Once I get off student status, we may reconsider. We have all of the appropriate paperwork in place should anything happen, although it is more likely that we will get wiped out in a car wreck on the way to the DZ than anything that might happen there. -
Trista, and as a newbie, I brainlocked. I opened at 4500, lower than I had before, and was overwhelmed by all of the other jumpers on what had always previously been a wide open field for me to land in where-ever I wanted. I was so busy trying to find a spot between them that I failed to fly the end of my pattern and had to accept a downwind landing as I was too low to turn. I also ended up doing a braked turn to avoid the plane, as it approached for the next load.
