Could it have hit something during deployment or landing on the ground? The first time I dumped my reserve in my riggres loft I launched the PC right at a pair of sicisors laying on the ground. No harm done but quite a learning experiance. thats all I got. .:skip

While I have not restored one I have done allot of research. I want one so bad but have decided to wait it out a year or so before I dedicate myself to it. It’s actually quite amusing how much this site reminds me of dropzone.com just with a bunch of airstream fanatics and much less Bobbie talk. Also there is a great book available RV Repair and Maintenance Manual 4 ED by Bob Livingston which will help you out allot with your restoration. I am interested in a mid seventies 25 footer and have found several in very good condition for under 5 grand. Just waiting until I have lots of time to spend with it. .:skip

I also have never jumped a 182 but I realy realy want to, infact I am planing a trip towards aggie land for that very reason;; among others. I once had planed on hitting up my local turbine DZ during the slow weak with intentions of getting in the small plane and when I arived we had a full otter load... .:skip

I loved this movie. Though Gene Hackman is one of my favorite actors. I love the skydiving footage, and though the plot is a little ughh slow I kind of liked it. Also I don’t know, I just kind of enjoy watching cutaway. My and my girlfriend have cutaway Sundays sometimes, we get a bunch of beer and junk food, throw in cutaway and have a blast quoting all the cheesy dialog. .:skip

I’ve been working nights for the last 5-6ish years and finally today started a new position in which I work from 7am – 4pm (ugh IT work so I doubt I really ever get to leave at 4). So it’s almost 4 and it just dawned on me; wow I can go skydiving if I want (and I guess if anyone else is out on a Monday afternoon). Does anyone here ever get to skydive after work during the week? How cool; I am privileged and stoked. .:skip

That sounds like a pretty good deal. Have you seen pictures of the rig? Does it look like it's in good condition? I bought a Jav, Sabre 170, PD Reserve, Cypress all with under 200 jumps for 3000 off of a clasified here on DZ.Com and am very satisfied with my purchse. I jump a Sabre and it's a great canopy. .:skip

Hey Kevin, that sounds awesome. I used to play in a few bands here in Houston but basically got my fill of constantly practicing and giging. However if you don’t find anyone at the DZ’S around here to start a band with and you want to check other places let me know. I know quite a few of the local musicians around here and still frequent the shows etc. There are actually a few cool things happening in town that sound like what you’re looking for. Alternative – folkey – country – punkey type stuff. .:skip

I'm in the process of learnign to restore vintage Airstream travel trailers. I hope to soon purchase one and completley rebuild the thing (pluming, electricity, interior, exterior). So yeah thats what I want just about more then anythign right now. .:skip -

I could posibably be at skyfest saturday, I ugh (*cough*) droped a handle last weekend after a mal/cutaway, and I'm waiting for a replacment. If the work gets done by Thursday - Friday Ill be up for a few jumps. .:skip

Consistently 4k! I let everyone know and if there is an issue we work it out before jump run. I like being higher than most on the load, I also like to take my time visualizing my landing patter and playing with my wings. A few times I have adjusted lower to make life easier for those around me, I have no problems with that. .:skip
