  1. Also my opinion. I don't care a bit if my jumping buddy wears a helmet or not. Most of the time I wear one and sometimes not and thats it. Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  2. I'm only replying to the last post... check in the BASE Fatality list number 17, 20 and 47... I also had a wall strike this year. I was wearing a helmet, body aromour and knee pads. I got away without a scrach (but with a hughe bill for an expensive helicopter rescue) and I'm sure it would have looked different if I would had not worn these things... 3. Yeah, it's "awsum" when you get to shoot good photos of someone getting hurt! Tell your buddy to send them to a whuffo magazine, maybe he can even get a few bucks out of it... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  4. Hello Jack, I did not call you an Idiot; I just called journalists that don't research idiots. Actually I liked the article you wrote. The only thing I did not liked was the part I mentioned in my post because it made me assume that you just took some information and made up your own story. Obviously I was wrong. I know that not all journalists are “bad”. But 85% of all articles I read about BASE Jumping are trying to show the sport in a bad way and let us look like small brained adrenaline junkies with a death wish. That is why I jumped a bit to fast to conclusions. Sorry about that. Cheers, Michi Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  5. sorry, my bad. My appologies. I just scroled it thru and all I saw was the exit of Brian. And as I just saw, Tom answerd your question. And he has first hand experience in high speed water impact. Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  6. Your report shows the exit of Brian Schuberts. He did die. And since you posted another link then promised in your post, I am not going to answer your questions in return. Maybe someone else will... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  7. In BASE there is no beer paying involved...
  8. In this case: Very nice!
  9. did you want to pull very low or was the "I want to get over the steet" that fooled your judgment a bit? I know this is an old video and I don't want to criticise you, I'm just curious... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  10. hey mate, if you refer to a post of someone you should press the reply button of that post... My english is not so good and your post (becaused adressed to my post) confused me a bit... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  11. I don't agree. You can minimize the possibility to die because of Material-, Rigging- and these kind of errors but there are still a lot of things that you can not controll that can go wrong like "shit happens 180's with linetwists, line overs, pc hesitation, bidel wraps, you name it... BASE is never, never, never going to be somewhat safe. You can do everthing perfectly wright and still die any day. I like a lot the bucket theorie of Dwain (I think), this explains BASE Jumping pretty well. Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  12. I know it is not about this but still... Why don't they even try to do a bit of research... Idiots Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  13. Wow you got some mean and obscure fantasy...
  14. By the way, where is your video? The trailer was really nice, one of the best edits I've seen... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch

  20. 12 clamps is only a part of the TA Packing tools. You also need 4 bungees, to big nails and 2 pull up cords. I learned to pack with only 1 pull up cord, then Tom spoiled me with his way of packing and after a cold turkey I'm back to 4 clamps and one pull up cord...
  21. No, it was in Mexico. One guy was high in a tracking dive and wanted to catch up and went almost head down. The one that got hit broke his leg and opend up right away and the other one was the one I followed down. Cypress saved his live. Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  22. I was once in the situation to follow someone down after he had a freefall colision short after exit. He was spinning on his back. I first tried to get to him but he was spinning very fast and I could not get to close to him so I stayed about 30 feet horizontal away from him. I opend up at around 1500 feet because I did not want to loos him. His cypress fired at around 1000 to 800 feet. Everthing went fine but I learned that I could not do much during the freefall to help him. Cypress is your friend!!! Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  23. And imagine poor Vanessa... She must be shocked evertime she sees a goat for the rest of her live! Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  24. Important: Just get someone to film you. It is always funny seeing a 18 jump wonder without the nescessary skills try something. The filmer should have good head down skills in order to get some nice pictures. Enjoy! Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
