How about showing him a picture of an actual sponsored parachute (whatever sponsor, as long as the logo is nice and big) so he can see what it looks like. Then look at manufacturers websites for plan-view sketches of canopies, it will be easier to put his logo on there with photoshop. Good luck

Gelvenor is widely accepted to be the most durable fabric used in paraglider construction. While paragliders are not subject to opening shock, they operate in a much harsher uv and dusty environment than the average skydiving canopy. So even if PD claims to use a better fabric, Gelvenor is still an excellent material.
