1 DZ is 3 hours away but only jumping there, as far as i've been able to find out........... The other DZ is 6 hrs away, with everything a jumper would need....... As far as winter is concerned , I'm a die hard sledder/racer so i don't have time as of now for jumping in the winter months....... As for my buddies.........they are starting the AFF course with me on July long weekend.... 1 is concerned about, becoming non-current and what he/we would have to do to become current again... We will be taking this AFF course state side, and once in a while a group from Manitoba comes to our town for a few days to make money off of 1st time static line jumpers......... Just curious as what we would have to do, to jump with them when they come to town........if we where non-current at the time......they don't have any AFF courses......... Thanks for the info --------------------------- Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"

Just looking for info as a soon to be holding A license...skydiver Does anyone know what one would have to go thru not staying current........ What is considered current? 1 month off 2 months off 3 months off 4 months off What i'm looking for is info for upto 1 year off after getting 1's A license.... The reason for this is a few friends, that are joing me in my quest for my A license are having 2nd thoughts .... becasue of the " staying current " in order to jump.... We live 3-6 hrs from a DZ..... So if we jump all summer on a regular basis we will still be off for roughly 6 months in the winter time.... I hope i'm making sense here...... Thank's for any info or a website that will give me this info... ---------------------------- Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"

Tipping............ What is this world coming too.............. If the instructors are expecting this ( tipping ) then i want to know before hand.......I will take my buisness somewhere else......... On the other hand.......I have no problem buying the guy's/gal's who helped me thru my training to obtain my A Lic. a beer while hanging out at the end of the day...... ***If you want tips, go work in a bar. like scottjaco said that's my 0.02cents worth -------------------------------------------- Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"

That's what i was hoping..........I can't ride roller coaster's at all...... Haven't started AFF yet.....July long weekend is the plan to do first jump as an AFF student.... Last summer i took the first jump course for static line type jumps.... I did 8 jumps but didn't feel comfortable at it.... The skydiving club was from out of town....came to town for 3 days to make a bunch of money on 1st timers..........well the first time they came i got 5 jumps in then they came back 2 or so months later and i did another 3.........not enough time doing it like that.....especially since they aren't from town... Thanks for the info.......... --------------------------------------- Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"

When u are in freefall and out of control .......say flipping all over the place............could someone explain what this feels like .........does it feel anything like a roller coaster........... Just curious as to what i have to look forward to when i start AFF and have to leave the plane un-stable and regain stability........ Thanks for any info ------------------------------------------------------- Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"

In the early 90's when I started drag racing sleds the name of the race team was Flat Line Racing... FLR for short... it basically came from the movie Flat Line........369 was the number way back then and in the last few years of racing dirt bikes and hillcross racing the number got changed to 169........ FLR169 As for the avatar it's just a cartoon character doing a no-footed can can........ so everything that i need a username for on the internet is FLR169........ I attached a pic of my Hillcross sled... --------------------------------------------------- Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"

Beerlight I found this today...so yes i now know what skygod means........... Skygod. Although on the surface this term refers to a superior skydiver, in drop zone use skygod is a derogatory term for a skydiver whose ego has grown faster than his skydiving ability. Beerlight.........."skygod" no idea what it means? TomAiello..........Thanks for the links.....I had read that info before i posted......just was hoping for a bit more info to help make my decision............ jlmiracle.........In canada the closest dz is in Manitoba which is 8 hrs away but no AFF course...Toronto is 14 hrs aways with a few DZ's to choose from and they teach the AFF course... Now Skydive Superior and Twincities are across the boarder from me and only 3 hrs and 6 hrs from my house and they both offer the AFF course.....but not a 100% sure about Skydive Superior... hehe so that is how i came up with those 2 DZ's.... thanks for your input..... GrumpySmurf.........thanks for the input dude.... I was state side this weekend and stopped in at skydive superior and didn't really find much....i grabbed a buisness card from the airport there and will try calling this week..... thanks, Mike Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
