  1. yes it is! thank you so much for making me laugh so early in the morning
  2. uh, 'pre-second' was used as a joke because of #1 on his list--jeez. edited to add: just in case you missed my edit in that post and i was one of the stupid sounding people you were referring to
  3. jumping as much as possible here in beautiful pennsylvania. but seriously, i'll be working very hard on improving my rw skills that way when i do make it to rantoul i can be a part of some great dives!
  4. yeah-- i'm definitely glad i learned that lesson on THIS thread. but, seriously now, i'm gonna stop hijacking
  5. remember the 99% computer illiterate thing? that also goes for computer lingo-- what's it mean if i highjack a thread?(please bear with me)
  6. hey-- since you explained the 'markup' thing, i figured out how to quote (i'm so smart) that's the pre-second time i ever did it
  7. i can't imagine why anyone would deny that they were once attracted to you everyone is an individual-- you should try opening your mind so don't watch then i would imagine these things are done for safety purposes everyone has their own unique style-- lighten up! besides, we are trying to be like birds--aren't we?
  8. congratulations!! your license # is awesome. today is the 1 year anniversary of when i got my 'A' and i still can't get the smile off my face-- it's a great accomplishment!
  9. you think you love it now, just wait-- it only gets better!! it's great to have you here
  10. i've had several. but the one that stands out was my brother and i were in freefall and when he pulled he had a baglock. he looked at with with a really scared look and didn't cut away or anything. i was scared to death for him but i remember thinking 'i can't help you-- i have to pull my own.' so i did and i had a baglock too, but didn't cutaway. we both rode our baglocks all the way down and had nice soft stand-up landings. edited to add this 2nd dream: my brother and i were in a plane and as it was flying it got wedged between 2 buildings. the door was open and the plane tilted to the side-- open door side down. he fell out the door and as he did, we both realized he didn't have a chute on. he looked up and made eye contact with me as he was falling-- and my god was he TERRIFIED. then out of nowhere i had a bedsheet in my hand and i held on to one end of it and threw the other end to him. next thing i know, the plane is un-wedged and flying with him dangling from this sheet. the plane landed safely and he was fine.
  11. i did 5 tandems total (including my skills evaluation one). i was hooked after the very 1st one, which was sept. 21st 2002, and i did 3 more by nov.24th 2002. i knew i loved the feeling but part of what i loved about the whole experience was that someone else was doing the important stuff (ya know-- like pulling) and all i had to do was enjoy the ride
  12. he must be: 1) a skydiver 2) an animal lover 3)a non-smoker there are more important things but i don't worry about those unless i want the relationship to be long term
  13. average sex with someone i like alot. chances are if i like them ALOT that means they've already managed to blow my mind somehow
  14. how can you tell if a guy is well hung? when there's no way to get your finger between the noose and his neck
  15. congratulations on 1000 jumps! i agree with everything on your list... except #2-- that's just crazy talk
  16. my mom had some friends in from out of town one weekend and she brought them up to watch. i don't know if she just needed ways to entertain and pass the time or if she was genuinely interested. but she has been supportive and watches all the videos of my jumps. my grandmother will be coming to the dz soon. and my dad says only fools and bird shit fall from the sky-- he has no interest in watching.
  17. i can totally relate. i consider myself to be a coordinated person but sometimes in freefall there's not a trace of coordination-- i just look like a total jackass. i know what i'm capable of but there are times, for whatever reason, that i can't accomplish what i want to-- what i KNOW i can. this bothers me the most when i'm jumping with about 4 or 5 other people and the dive would have gone as planned IF i would've gotten there faster-- or at all. then to top it off, i see people with 100+ jumps less than me able to succeed at what i couldn't. there's been dozens of times where i've been on a group dive and it was someone else who floated too much or went low or never made it in, and i think nothing of it or nothing less of them. but when it's ME and someone tries to tell me it's no big deal and don't get mad about it, those words mean nothing and i'm still pissed off at myself when i go to bed. i need to change my attitude-- maybe i'll start working on that this weekend.
  18. well, not a parent or child, but my brother. it was almost 2 years ago when he said "hey, we're gonna try skydiving for your birthday." he has no idea the huge door he opened for me
  19. on sunday i tried a 2way from 12,000ft and we didn't get together once. i have about 175 jumps, she has about 70, and i was the one backsliding across the sky like a dumbass. not to mention she just started jumping again after a 7 month layoff and i jump every week. i had an awesome instructor and i can't imagine what must go through her head when she sees me fly. i have yet to do justice to what i was taught. don't get discouraged-- you're completely normal.
  20. 'sucked' is a major understatement. i can't remember the last time we had a no-wind day. that's the worst when you look out the window and everything looks beautiful then you step outside....
  21. the most i've done in a day is 4, and that's happened several times. i'm usually limited by my cash flow. in an effort to save $ i try to do all my own packing too, in which case i'm then limited by time-- it takes me forever to pack!
  22. hi, this is my very 1st post and i figured this was a great place to start! i can't remember when skydiving entered my mind but i remember being 5 years old jumping off furniture with my brother and flapping our arms like crazy hoping to fly. and i remember being 7 years old on the 'peter pan' ride at disney world. i felt like i was a bird flying above the city and i fell in love with that feeling. i'm not sure if that's what you're looking for but i know those things all played a part in me being open to the idea of jumping out of an airplane
