There was only one pen in my entire home, wanna guess where?
kbordson replied to grue's topic in The Bonfire
I'm guessing it was in the last place you looked!! (either that or you weren't very bright and kept looking once you had found it) -
No, I said IT'S ok.... You're weird. LOL!!!!!!
-
it's an acronym ("your kink is not my kink, but that's ok") Remi said I'm OK!!!
-
I guess it all depends. Was it strictly medical, or was there some "fun and games" snuck into the procedure? Primarily medical. (I don't think most guys would consider that in the "fun and games" category.... even Remi - see above)
-
YKINMKBTOK Who said anything about kinky... it was medical! I swear! Not an ounce of enjoyment......
-
HEY!!! You cutting on Miss-ur-ah? (and, just curious, does "helping" by inserting a foley cath count?)
-
Wow... those crutches really aren't that expensive! (but that would be a NO on the walker.... geees... I'm not that old!!) And for the record, I didn't limit my patient from... ahhhhh..... other forms of satisfaction, just nothing in the vagina

It's hard to believe that this has been 40/60 for so long. I thought for sure that one of the choices would be more prefered.

Healing really depends on A LOT of factors. (size of the babe, size of the pelvis, lenght of time pushing, tissue edema, ect) But generally 1-2wks for most to heal the "skid marks" that some women get. If it's an episiotomy or laceration that needed to be repaired then it takes about 3-4w to "feel better". I repair the tissue if the tissue is torn down to the subcutaneous tissue or deeper or if there is significant bleeding. If it's just the "skid marks" or abrasions/minor lacerations of the skin of the perineum or periuretheral areas, I would not stitch it. [end hijack]

wow... that would be very annoying! Only "good" part is that it was only temporary. but still 15 months! and I'm disappointed by 3-4 weeks.... *sigh*.... I know... I should just suck it up....

I know things are better now after the surgery... but from her perspective - she gets to take home a beautiful lil babe .... so there are silver linings with both case. But the question was more which of the restrictions would be more annoying? -Having to be dependant? Crutches pressing on the inner aspect of the upper arm? Muscle wasting in the non weight bearing leg? People looking at you with pity (when really there is no need for pity... they're just crutches) or -Having to give up intercourse? (guess that kinda shows my bias)

I could have took more time off (and maybe should have... I have the vacation and could have even just said I don't care and took time without pay)... but took off the day of surgery and one additional clinic day. I just think of my patients as MY patients, so I didn't want to "dump" my OB ladies on my partners. My practice has had to ease up on the call schedule cuz I can't do standing surgeries yet (and C-Sections fall into that category). But as far as clinic stuffs go... I'm still able to do to what a gyn does best. Just a little slower at getting from room to room. And... your "rant" was heartfelt emotions that should be more common, but that's why I give the ladies the ability to use me as the excuse.

I have learned that I'm a horrid "invalid." I keep thinking that "I can do that" ... and then have to try to figure out how to get the soup to the table by just looking at the bowl or scrubbing in for a surgical case and then looking at the crutches ... and having to hop into the room (don't worry, I was just assisting and it was a case that I could sit down for). I just don't like being dependant and needy.

Guys can post too!! That's why I put it here in Bonfire!

The general recommendation is for a couple of reasons: 1. So that she's not pregnant prior to her 6w appointment and then her body gets no time to recover from one pregnancy to the next. 2. Allow healing of any laceraations/abrasions that occured during the birth process 3. Allow the cervix to close and the uterus to return to normal size to decrease the possiblity of pelvic or intrabdominal infections. 4. If C-Section, to allow the incision on the uterus to heal. 5. If a tubal ligation, to allow the cut ends of the tubes to scar. 6. To give her a valid reason to tell him "NO. Doctors orders" if she's just not in the mood but not wanting to deny.

No... this isn't a "should I cutaway" or break up thread. Just a question to answer a discussion started earlier in the day. Saw my ortho again yesterday and was *sigh* a touch disappointed by what he recommended.... not that three or four more weeks on crutches would be anything like what some have had to deal with on a permanent basis, but it was discouraging to still hear. But then after that visit, I went to see one of my patients in the hosptial and gave her the routine postpartum instructions (nuttin' in the vagina for the next 6wks...no tampons, no douching and no intercourse) She was quite disappointed with my recommendation and was rather interested in how bad it would be NOT for follow my recommendations. It started me thinking though.... which would be worse? The inconvience of crutches or the lack of meeting your primal urges? Again... these are just SHORT TERM limitations - not a permanent life change.

NEWS FLASH!!! -- I'M HOME!! and How "High-class" are Your Problems?
kbordson replied to Gawain's topic in The Bonfire
Max, I am so glad to hear that all things are going well for you! Your past year, your courage and determination... a true inspiration! It makes small "ordinary" challenges or temporary setback seem do-able. (but... sometimes it still helps to vent about some of the annoying daily inconviences.... thus the bonfire... so don't be too judgemental of the weaker moments) Good Luck and Take Care! and... glad to hear that Walter Reed isn't as the NY Times reports. -
Sorry, please clarify what you're talking about eating now. I'm pretty sure the vanacular is figurative rather than literal. something with pus is described as purulent. Pussy is something completely different. And if you you have pussy scabs: scabs on your pussy.... bad!!!!
-
Oh come on....I bet he meant a Crunchy Scab, not an Icky, Gooey Pusey one! "Pusey"?! That's purulent, thank you. Pusey sounds....eeewwww

Bring on the RUM!!!!

Have fun.... seriously. It may be nerve wracking, stressful, and possibly a bit intimadating.... but enjoy the moment. You'll do great!

Yeah, Amber!!!!!!!!

Crack whore...... In that case, use your left hand (cuz that way it will just be different) and use LOTS of mayonaisse (to match the discharge)... now getting the STD's..... might need to get the mayo out of a medical waste facility.
