Glad to hear things are going so well for you, sweetie. You of all people deserve it! How long will you be over seas?

Wendy, I meant that IAH is just a better airport in general. I have never liked Hobby, personally. Either one would work to fly into. I will be operating DUH's taxi cab service in full throttle, so just let me know when you need me there peeps!

Welcome to the sport & forums!!!

I am by far no expert skydiver, but from my personal experience I will say that Tandems are a great introduction into the sport. You have an experienced instructor with you throughout the entire skydive and landing. During your first skydive you will more than likely experience "sensory overload". It is a lot to take in.... I just felt more comfortable with having someone with at least 500 jumps attached to my back just in case I locked up at any point during the skydive. My DZ requires 2 tandems and then a ground training class, where after you jump solo with one instructor for the next 18 jumps. I do not think static line is really offered at many DZ's anymore.... I could be wrong though. Good luck and welcome to the sport & forums.

OH OH! ME ME! I dont mind driving!

One thing that came out of the blue I found out last night was that they found 18 shells at the scene....I dont understand the need to put that many bullets in someone; much less in front of his 3 children & wife.... I appreciate the kind words from you all. I should be finding out funeral arrangements today.... Thanks for being here for me...it means a lot.

We might be able to work something out.... When are you getting to Texas? BWAHAHA

Count me in! -
Well, Jason. It obviously hasn't been a good day for any of us. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your friends family during this time..... I must ask myself...What is this world coming to?
-
Or the Skyfest thread....

I honestly think the best bet for people is to camp out. There are showers at Spaceland...I don't plan on driving anywhere after the party...TRUST ME! *Edited to add: There will be a skydiver rate available at a local hotel as well. More info to follow...

Hobby is closer but IAH is a lot better. You choose...We'll find someone to pick her up without a problem.

It's okay...It's just hard dealing with people from the truck scene screaming out "he got what he deserved". I don't mind honest straight forward questions...He was my friend. That's what matters. He never did wrong by me.
-
Honestly, when I heard about this..I knew what the reason behind it probably was. AJ ran a wheel/tire business. He dealt w/ a lot of people, and a lot of times he screwed them over. I have feeling he just screwed over the wrong person. Even though he wasn't the best business man, he was still an awesome husband, father, and friend.

I just don't understand people. He had just gotten home from church with his wife and kids and a guy with a mask approached him as they were all walking up to his apartment, hit him, he fell down..the guy stood over him and fired multiple shots at him and then fled on foot. How can people do such a thing? I'd known AJ for about 6 years now...

I just found out one of my friends was gunned down in front of his wife and kids..
