no kidding... arg.. sure, cessnas can be fun.. a couple of you talked about going back and forth being fun, and i would agree, but when cessnas are the only thing around they can get pretty old. I started on totters, so when i jumped out a cessna it was fun, but after a bit you really miss the turbines. -Seth :)

laptops are definately nice.. especially b/c you can get them with the "docking station" and use it just like a desktop. (the dock lets you pug in a regular monitor mouse and keyboard into it, and then you just slide the closed laptop onto the dock.) and the mobility is a definate plus.. I've used a few different laptops (toshiba, dell, acer) the dell latitude was a really good laptop, and the some of the toshibas are nice too (i liked the tecras..i don't like the satelites as much..) for the acers, i had a "tablet PC" that was cool, but i wasnt too impressed with the quality.. but, like the others said, it all depends on what you use it for.. i have a desktop at home b/c i wanted to build myself something really powerful.. but for most uses and everyday stuff i would recomend the laptop. edited to say: definately also have to agree on the macs.. they're not so proprietary anymore since they're based on unix now, OS X is super super cool, and their architechure is awesome.. they cost a little bit more, but they are worth it. -Seth :)

I think it will boost attendance too (probably to both events).. I know that this is the first year that they have done it, but i think its a good idea.. I know what you mean about the time off work - i have 3 weeks vacation and i'll probably spend at least half of it between the two.. -Seth :)

How important is chemistry in a relationship to you?
CrazyRock replied to genoyamamoto's topic in The Bonfire
"A pot that heats too quickly, cools as fast." -chinese proverb I've always tried to keep that in mind for relationships. sure "chemistry" is important, but sometimes it can ruin things too. -Seth :) -
there are lots of companies that use spy software and monitoring tools on employees. as far as i know, it's not illegal. they have agreements set up where if you are using their network or computers, then you are agreeing that they may monitor your activity. the boss would be acting on the companies ownership, but the company might/should have policies that would keep him from looking at that info whenever he wanted. if the computer were leased or such, it probably wouldn't make much difference.. for the audio survailance, i'm pretty sure that video is legal but audio is not. -Seth :)

tell me about it.. when i lived in chicago (bolingbrook) I could be at sdc in 45 mins.. so cool... And what will be cool about even doing the weekend thing is that the one weekend will be the last weekend of SF and the other the last weekend of Wffc.. so you can get both parties in this year... woohoo! :) -Seth :)

Anyone else excited/glad about SDC's summerfest and Wffc being different weeks this year?? I probably won't go to summerfest for the whole week, but I think it's pretty cool that i'll be able to go to both this year w/o having to pick between them! anyone else going to go to both?? -Seth :)

I know this will sound kinda wierd, but i have hung out with some swinger freinds of mine a couple of times, and the way that they did things seemed ok.. whereas, i think that some of the stuff that i have seen/heard with the bachelor parties is just wrong, and even gross! I guess with the swingers, they are both agree to it, and its not with total strangers, but with the bachelor parties ppl do really gross stuff with sleazy strangers.... anyway, why cant a "bachelor party" just be a really fun "adventure" trip with the guys?? I think that would be a ton more fun than all the stripper crap anyway!! \ my $0.02 -Seth :)

the funny thing about bfc is that it really isn't anti-gun. MM has said that himself in interviews, and even one of the anti-MM sites you posted said that. I am "pro-gun", and while i don't agree with everything MM said or did in BFC, I enjoyed the movie and own a copy of it b/c I also really like some of what he says, and i think he brings up some good points. I looked at some of the anti-MM sites you guys posted. while they offer some interesting points, I don't really think those arguments hold a lot of water.. like the editing of the heston speech. I realized the first time i saw it that the "cold dead hands" part was a different speech, and while they show that he put different clips together, the meaning and the words are the same. MM just makes it a condensed version. Also, i've noticed that on the sites (and even in these posts) that people against MM seem to have a personal vendeta against him and are hell-bent on destroying him... this seems kinda weird and i have to wonder why they 'protest too much' Anyway, I've enjoyed seeing points from both sides. craichead: I've also enjoyed your posts- your aguments seem to pretty calm and level-headed... but, try not to lose your tempers guys! and remember that theres not anything wrong with admiting someone might have a point.. -Seth :)

GOOD POINT. Im sure it will work out I'll have to find the reciept and take it back to the store. I guess my Visa bill will work if I cant find the receipt actually, if you bought it from a store like best buy, they can look it up for you by your credit card... they did that for me when i was returning soomething w/o the reciept.. -Seth :)

DUDE! listen to them and check out SDC.. definately very very awesome! I've heard more than one person call it the disneyworld of skydiving, and they aren't joking! its in ottawa.. from downtown take I55 to I80 west.. for the good bars/party scene, go to wrigleyville (basically the interscetion of clark and belmont, next to wrigley field, north of the loop) definately a good time, and if you're a sushi fan at all thats the place to get good stuff cheap! (try "Sanko", its on clark i'm pretty sure.. really good stuff for low price.) theres a cool bar right across the street from it too. have fun dude.. chicagos a great place.. wish I was still there... and fyi, it was named the windy city for the politicians, not for the weather... -Seth :)

k, that said, can we let the thread die now? (j/k) -Seth :)
-
that would be the way to go... it would take time to get a lot of sponser etc lined up anyway, so best to start smaller and build up. -Seth :)
-
LOL hehe.. if you guys don't know where that's from, it's monty pythons "ebonics language lesson" here is one site that i found that made a flash program out of it.. http://www.theflasharchive.com/f/f-85.htm -Seth :)

move thread?? -Seth :)

ditto... it would probably be easier to put a show (or a couple shows) together and put it on another channel that aready shows "extreme" sports... information shows would work well, but a tv show actually filming the sport would be tougher i think. you can firlm golf or skateboarding easily for hours at a time... can't do that with skydiving.. you would have to make a bunch of jumps to get the same amount of film.. and then, who is paying for all those jumps? if 'the show' is paying for them, you would have to get enough viewers/advertising dollars to cover all the cost.... -Seth :)
-
- Groundhog day! - Point break! (of course) which, even tho skydiving is a smaller part of the movie, its still way better than the other movies entirely about skydiving. -Seth :)

haha.. cute keep it the same- like someone else said, it doesnt have to mean colorado.. besides, it could mean that you have the rocky mountain high wherever you go!! btw, where did ya move to?? -Seth :)
