    HIPPIES

I know what you're saying.. the 'carefree lifesyle' is definately cool.. that's also where i see the skydiving lifestyle blending in... I don't mean corporate hippy the way you're thinking... you can't "skip the system" especially if you want to have $$ to afford to jump... so, you work around the system.. in the corporations, but nof OF the corporations.. you play the game to get by, but you don't buy into the whole rat race mentality. like i said, i think the skydiving culture has some hippy elements, but it's way cooler. -Seth :)

    HIPPIES

hahahahahahahahah... Cartman: Hippies.... HIPPIES.... They're everywhere... they wanna save the earth but all they do is smoke pot and smell bad... help.. -Seth :)
  7. Other than that requirement, you just desribed Skydive Chicago. thats what i was thinking.. so we just need to move it south right?.. or, uh.. just build a big bubble around it that keeps it warm all the time. -Seth :)
  8. Please tell me you're joking... why be ashamed?? i would agree that it not nessecary to always be trying to flaunt, but ashamed is just bad. -Seth :)
  9. go to http://www.linuxiso.org/.. from there, you can download a lot of the linux distros to try out.. if you just want to try out linux w/o installing it, knoppix is a distro you can run from cd.. i've had probs getting it to work on some computers tho... Lindows (lindows.com) is supposed to be a real user freindly one, but you have to pay for it, and i didn't like it a whole lot... Out of the linux distros i've seen, I still like Red hats "Fedora" the best. (where Red hat used to also have the consumer version, they have now split it, and the consumer version is called the fedora project.) it is pretty user freindly, and easy to install.. and probably has the best gui out of all of them, but its still a little lacking... Of course, now that MacOS X is based off of FreeBSD with the Darwin kernal, I say: Buy a mac dude!!!! they have all the power and stability of a unix/linux platform now, plus all of the ui of the macs.. best way to go if you ask me. -Seth :)
  10. Traditionally, summerfest and wffc have always been the same week, but this year they are on different weeks. Summerfest is from 7/31 to 8/8 and is at skydive chicago.. its a cool boogie, and it anything, is cool to go to just b/c of the people and location... WFFC is from 8/6 to 8/15, so the two boogies overlap just on the one weekend.. so you could go to one for a couple days and then the other. last year was my first year at wffc, and i was only there for the first half of the week. i've been told tho that with wffc there is more jumping towards the beginning of the week, and then as it wears on and people start running out of $$, people get a little bit more into party mode. hope to see you there! -Seth :)

    HIPPIES

I like that answer.. and i like what someone said about there being a little hippy in all of us.. i deffinately see a lot "hippy qualities" in most skydivers. - and there's nothing wrong with that!! a lot of the hippy stuff is cool! like the others said, i take a shower everyday, have a decent job to pay for skydiving, ect... maybe the term here is corporate hippy?? the way i see it, i just work so i have enough $$ to enjoy life. and theres nothing wrong with grateful dead or phish!
  12. I just saw EuroTrip.. i think its from the same guys that did RoadTrip... Dumb, but really funny too... -Seth :)
  13. Yeah, you're right. I'm sure this movie will be 100% accurate with no speech taken out of context nor crafty editing just like all of his other accurate movies. What was I thinking. Damn it! we DID go through this already! -Seth :)
  14. deffinately one of.. I can't beleive the bs rules they have come up with now -Seth :)
  15. I'm sure he was a nice guy, and all of the other things that you say.. but i agree with shadow jumper here... lets put it this way- his *action* was selfish, thoughtless, cruel to his freind(s), and made him look like a total ass. If he were my freind i'd be pissed as all hell at him. what he did was a real f**king idiotic thing to do. He apparently wasn't thinking about the effect it would have on his family, kids, freinds, or even about the black eye it would give the sport. Everyone goes through bad times. But I and other people I know have promised ourselves and others to never resort to suicide! it just doesn't make sense. even the worst of times get better. no matter how nice of a guy you are, suicide as an action screams "hey, look at me, I'm a selfish dick." and that gets no sympathy from me. I feel incredibly sorry for his freinds, especially the cameraman, his family, and the dropzone. his action was unfair to them all. -Seth :)
  16. who is the suckiest actress in hollywood? sorry, couldn't resist- i can't stand either of them. -Seth :)
  17. Does that really break from your usual pattern? whats that suppose to mean? I agree with both of those. personally, i think the patriot act and ones like it are a little scary in the broad powers that they give. I'll post it for anyone who doesn't know it. "They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin * Source: Historical Review of Pennsylvania (1759) -Seth -Seth :)
  18. True.. I should have looked b4 i posted.. pretty interesting. So, would you call these people terrorists though? Or their acts as terrorism? when i think of terrorism i think of people killing many people in an explosive way. In these ariticles i haven't seen anything about them killing anyone.... Is stocking terrorism? how about vandelism?? Theres no question i think what they are doing is wrong (which is really too bad, b/c i don't like animal testing either.) but is the label of terrorism going overboard? -Seth :)
  19. CrazyRock

    Uh Oh

geez, well i'm sure it just HAS to be terrorism! guess we're really screwed now. -Seth :)

  21. I think you missed his point. Hes asking you how do you know he voted what the skydivers wanted when you don't know what the skydivers want/wanted?? I'm not saying he doesn't, but there isn't a poll of all the skydivers/members everytime uspa makes a decision. -Seth :)
  22. sounds good to me. -Seth :)
  23. Shaun, props on constantly promoting ksupc!! see you soon! -Seth :)
