  1. I'm sure these little things will get taken care of quickly and you probably know about them... When I try to modify a photo (edit the location, etc), it doesn't work. It first requires that I select an image to upload (Column Image cannot be left blank.). Then if I reselect the same photo and try again, it gives me this error: geot_id_fk cannot contain the value '' Also, just a quick suggestion... it would be great if it saved the dropzones I choose to a "recently selected" list so I don't have to pick out the same DZs every time. Dave
  2. Don't forget your skyride certificates!
  3. I started putting something like that together. Fully editable by anybody that wants to add to it. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/wiki/index.php/Video_Cameras Feel free to add anything you come across in your research. Dave
  4. Yeah I was gonna say... I almost never see ATM machines that keep the card anymore. All the ones I use are either swipe or put the card in and pull it out before the transaction starts. Dave
  5. SHE? I always thought... never mind. Congrats!!! Dave
  6. Connecticut Connecticut Parachutists: No Danielson: No If you call skyride from here, you'll either be sent to a DZ in massachusetts that closed down a while ago, or to Troy, NY (near albany) if Ryan informed them. They were sending people to the closed DZ until I informed Ryan that the dropzone doesn't exist anymore. Hopefully they don't do much business in this area. Dave
  7. You can definitely do some nasty things like that with a skydiving canopy... 9 years ago today: http://www.skydivingfatalities.info/search.asp?MinDate=25%2F10%2F1998&MaxDate=25%2F10%2F1998&Place=&State=&Country=US&Category=&MinAge=17&MaxAge=78&UnknownAge=on&MinJumps=0&MaxJumps=15000&UnknownJumps=on&AAD=&RSL=&Description=&DescriptionOperator=OR&Lessons=&LessonsOperator=OR Also the day of my first jump at a nearby DZ to that one. Dave
  8. Again, can anyone confirm that we can start referring to the Perris jet as "Skyride Air?" Dave
  9. He chooses to ignore anything that happened in the past or anything that is outside his control, like any of the skyride scam web pages. I really think he is well aware of skyride's past but believes they are a different company now. Us skydivers are nothing but a minor annoyance to skyride because dropzones and other businesses continue to work with them. I've heard dropzones as reputable as perris valley are accepting their certificates these days. I don't think DZOs can possibly claim ignorance anymore... they just don't care. Why would skyride employees care about their criminal background if our friends in the skydiving community don't care? Is it true about perris? Dave
  10. Lots of comments about that one (going back to 2005
  11. Nope. Won't do any harm. It'll work normally. Dave
  12. I looked at the pic before reading the post and didn't notice anything. The lettering on the sign and the logo looked odd to me, but I figured it was probably hand painted so it wasn't perfect. After knowing it was photoshopped I can see a few issues, but who cares because it tricked me without knowing. I think the sign could use a little shading to make it look more real, but it's a nice job! Dave
  13. In that case, I'd recommend keeping an audible in your jumpsuit pocket for the next 200 jumps. Dave
  14. I haven't quite figured out the altitrack. Sure, it's cool. But I can't quite figure out why someone would want to take a perfectly good mechanical altimeter and add electronics and batteries and still have an analog face. The nice thing about it is that you'll always have it with you so the logbook will stay up to date. I switch back and forth between an RW helmet and a camera helmet, so I forget my neptune a lot of times. Keeps me on my toes at least. But other than always having your logbook with you, I just can't figure out what the real advantage of the altitrack is over a quality mechanical altimeter. I know mechanical altimeters can fail, but I have trouble believing that the altitrack can match the reliability of an altimaster. Good for high altitude jumps though, I guess. Dave
  15. I definitely recommend an altimaster galaxy... it'll likely last your entire jumping career. As for an audible, I personally like the neptune because it's easier to use than anything else and has lots of cool features, but anythng will work. Set it 100 feet low for breakoff and pull... if you hear it and you haven't already reacted, you're late. Don't use the audible to remember when to break off or pull... it's VERY easy to rely on an audible, and they DO fail. Dave
  16. Obviously image. Anyone that answers photo is a dumbass.
  17. Except most of it isn't true. Snopes is your friend. Dave
