Hey JNJ, Crosskeys, the Ranch, Sussex, Skydive Long Island, Skies the Limit, are all great skydiving centers. Each has a slightly different feel. I would suggest over time visiting each and calling the one you are most comfortable at home. Skydivers from NYC visit all of these dz's and different personalities fit it at each. Good luck in your travels, and hopefully I'll bump into you along the way!!! Al ************ Watch out for planters.

Max Wingloading for 280 jumps
berchtoldaj replied to KevinSpencer's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I recommend people read up on the opinions of highly experienced canopy coaches. he may want to check out Brian Germains book. This book would suggest as a guideline that he not exceed 1.2 until he reaches 300 jumps. ************ Watch out for planters. -

Get a navigator daless. Just kidding, maybe not immediately, but I would do 2-3 hop n'pops with in the first 20 jumps. I also think it is beneficial to periodically do them to continue to explore your canopies charactaristics as your skill level increases. Have fun on your new velo.......see you at swoop club. ************ Watch out for planters.

DZ's Operating Jersey/Philidelphia/Minnesota??
berchtoldaj replied to MissyOutTheBox's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I would agree, If you plan on continuing skydiving and advancing, the most progressive dropzones teach AFP or AFF. The largest difference is AFP begins with 3 tndems. check out USPA.org Give freefall adventures/skydive crosskeys a call and let them know your background and they can fit you into a training program relatively easy. If not, its pretty busy if you just want to come out and watch. www.freefalladventures.com Al ************ Watch out for planters. -
