THAT PICTURE WAS TAKEN I BELIEVE FROM THE DOVER AFB FLIGHT LINE OF HISTORICAL AIRCRAFT THE PLANE YOU CAN BARELY SEE TO THE RIGHT OF IT IS THE VERY FIRST C-141A AND NEXT TO HERE IS A C-141B MODEL NUMBER 5 OR SUCH THE DHC-4 IS ALSO KNOWN AS THE C-7 CARIBOU BY THE US ARMY. IT FLEW DURING THE 60 AND 70S.

you actually have three choices you may wish to try the skydiving place LLC exit 33 off of 95. we have two cessna and one king air. really relaxed people and you get to jump as much as you want

I shoot both strong and vector tandems and have not had any difficulty shooting either with a tony c wing and freefly pants. My helmet is set so that its in line and not adjusted for any angle. I guess it just takes a while to get used to this. We always stress shooting the student since its their time on tv not the tandem masters.

I know how you feel, I put my order in on 25 May and I am still waiting for my canopy. Funny though my brother ordered his two weeks before I did, and we have exactly the same colors and everything yet his cam in under 6 weeks. yet mine they cannot confirm if it was even made yet. go figure.

It is realistic figure this. A 14 year old kid in his freshman year of highschool decides well I am not old enough to skydive so i will go to the tunnel and practice till i am old enough to ie 18 most dzs. well guess what in 4 years going to the tunnel say 1 hr a week, that's 208 hrs in the tunnel. guess what he has more simulated freefall than most instructors, so what i am getting at is realistic you just misunderstand what i was asking. so now that you understand please respond back thanks.

Question for all the instructors out there. If you got a student that had more than 200 hours in the tunnel doing AFF drills, RW, and Freeflying how would you feel about: 1. If they flew their body better than you. 2. Told you as an instructor that your doing it wrong Also do you think that people pre-student ie 18 and younger get the skills in the tunnel should start right off at RW big ways and freeflying big ways. Just looking for some instructor input. Also provide feedback on the risk you are willing to take for wind tunnel rats that have no tracking and canopy skills thanks and blue skies

I am trying to figure this out. If you are just coming off of student status at 15 jumps, do you think a 5pt 1o way jump is abrupt for a student on his or her 15 jump??? Any instructors out there have any imput on this? thanks!

What makes a DZ home for you?

I always put my chin to my chest. I find it easier to keep my head there.

For all you free spirited gravity seekers, what rig would you buy and why if you had to choose between a Mirage and a Javelin?
-
Seen a simlar response to this question before on here. If you don't think you can land your canopy in any off field area, you might want to think twice about jumping whatever size canopy it is. This is a general guideline and an open one. Take it for what its worth, 0.02

Coackroach, Like Chuck said, THINK before you make a comment. Having talked with Chuck on the topic of what canopy to buy etc. He gives advice from the many of a canopy that he has jumped. I personally demoed a Vengeance, Stiletto, and a Cobalt before I made a decision to buy a Cobalt. Remember informed decisions are best.

I agree with Quade. I will say this, the requirement should definitely stay because you never know what situation you may find yourself in. (I am leaving this in broad terms since most of you think that you will never get yourself into one) Better to be prepared than find yourself up a creek without a paddle.

Read the post and thought of my own mal. Similar except that mine was a spinning mal from 2200 with line twists from risers to line attachment pts. I tried kicking out and when I hit 1800 ft i cutaway and had a perfect landing on my reserve. Alt awareness is the key to survival. A mentor of mine once told me that on every jump always rehearse what you will do in the event of a mal. bottom line though I hope he recovers and skydives again, I know I also got hurt skydiving just not to that extent.

Sold a Spectre 170 with less than 100 jumps for $900. It was in great condition though.

poll - n 1: an inquiry into public opinion conducted by interviewing a random sample of people [syn: public opinion poll] poll - v.,n. 1. [techspeak] The action of checking the status of an input line, sensor, or memory location to see if a particular external event has been registered. I guess by informing you of the meaning you may now understand..... ignorance kills!!!!

"Lowest exit to date is 1800" What are you thinking?? 1. I hope you are not an instructor 2. If you are I also hope that your students don't see this sh*t 3. I guess the SIM doesn't apply to you. 4. What kind of example are you setting for other skydivers? If this 1800' exit was due to aircraft problems I could see it, but not voluntarily.
-
This poll is ONLY for skydivers that have used Emergency Procedures because of a malfunction that WAS NOT intentional. Which method did you use to cutaway your malfunction? One handed or two handed method? Did you use this method because you were taught this in your FJC or because you learned it after FJC because it works better for you, etc.

I saw a picture where a demo jumper had two flags off of his lines, anybody out there seen or done this before???? How did they do it??? I have also seen one flag on the lines and one hanging below.

your altimeter will stop around 17k then start back down when you dscend below 17k, I have seen it stick sometimes. Also you can geta chmaber test done on it to find out where yours stops approx.

Having read all of these posts, I have come to a glaring conclusion. Blatant comments because someone uses a term you endear not to understand, equals ignorance on your part. So for all those who don't understand the concept or the terms call or ask, or heaven forbid look it up!! the only thing in this sport more dangerous than a new jumper is an ignorant one!!! Its easier to slam someone than it is to make an informed decision. Go figure!!
-
Glad to see and hear that some people listen to those that have been there done that, or seen that. Having been the subject of a skydiving accident at around 86 jumps, I teach all my students to be aware of what experienced and knowledgeable jumpers say. This is one of those sports where we all continue to learn no matter the experience level.

I have flat, psycho, pro packed both ellipticals, semi-ellipticals, and square canopies, and have not had any off heading openings. I have noticed that a flat pack tends to open quicker when packed a certain way. Skydiving at Above the Poconos, you can see their rigger flat pack their stiletto's quicker than a pro pack!!!! Just my 0.02 worth.

I personally don't think we have the combat power to reign in another two countries such as the current situation is.
