  1. Me too, me too! I wanna see. Can I? Huh? Huh?... got a T1 here. Let's put to "good" use . 1111, GeekStreak
  2. Way to go Diva! Only 198 more jumps for me and I right there with ya!
  3. OK everybody, It's Monday!! Woohooo!! Time to forget about having fun and get back to work! Just Kidding, we all REALLY know it's time to go to work and read the forums all day
  4. I'm in SL progression now. I've made a grand total of 2 jumps, so I won't speak from my experience, but I will say this. If you've already made 10 jumps, you were probably doing freefalls (depending on # of redos). I would continue where you left off if I were you. On the other hand. You already have 10 canopy rides. AFF would focus more on the things you haven't already practiced much and get you higher faster, but costs more per jump. If cash were not an issue, I probably would have chosen AFF in the first place. I have also noticed that it's harder to get a ride up in the C-182 for an SL jump. There just aren't as many of us, whereas the AFF students ride the Otter... lots of room on lots of loads. The number of available JMs is the only issue. I have only made one jump per trip to the DZ so far because it takes all day to get up. Hey! WAIT!! Can I change my answer?? I'm so confused 1111, GeekStreak
  5. Same here Sis. Can't jump and wishing I could . So far this weekend the most exciting thing I've done is move furniture. UGH!! Hmmm... maybe I should go take a shower ! 1111, GeekStreak
  6. As a student, who has not yet had the honor of buying the beer, it's sorta like a credit system for me. So far all I've done is COMSUME the beer. When it's my turn I'll gladly fork it over ! Donna posted these beer rules a while back for those interested. Thank you Donna! Just get yourself in the sky, Anonymous! Worry about the beer later. 1111, GeekStreak
  7. USPA also says at 1,000' pull reserve first no matter what... Does that imply that you cut your main first if higher? I was taught to dump a bag lock before pulling the reserve. 1111, GeekStreak
  8. ROFLMFAO!! Hey! How did you get my CT scan!?!?! 1111, GeekStreak

    Here's Tee!

Ditto that!! BTW Pammi, what's the deal with your forum pic? It's showing a broken link. 1111, GeekStreak
  10. Yup! You gotta throw in some "uh huh", "ohhhhh", "I seeee", and an ocasional eye contact. I used to follow an incredulous statement with "REALLY?"... Listen for cues. I am refering to conversations I had with my X-wife, so maybe I don't know jack schtick . I'm having none of these problems with my current (hopefully permanent
  11. Thanks Donna! Royalties are negotiable. Have your people call my people . BTW: Loved reading about your jumps at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Estates/7810 Geek 1111
  12. OK. The consensus is... ... Shut-up and jump, Geek! Tanx all
  13. Can I borrow your 1111 for my sig?? Geek
  14. I love it, man! My only suggestion is that you SEND IT IN AND WIN!!! Cheers, Geek
  15. Hey, I like my JM just fine and I trust him implicitly, but be botched the spot. I just want to know what protocol is if it looks bad to me. I'm not sure when my next jump will be, but it'll be at least 2 weeks from now. Blue Skies, Geek
  16. We're not extinct yet! AFF sounds like a more exciting way to learn, but I gotta pace myself on the $$$. Thank you for the kind words . Who said anything about climbing back in? I'll hang out and wait hehe. I was really looking forward to trying some canopy control techniques like riser turns, flare turns, etc. Cuz I was so far downwind I didn't do any of that . You're probably right. How long is a C-182? I just remember the deployment being much smoother and slower last time... and no feet-first horizontal flight. But, then again, on my first jump I'm sure I was more scared and less aware. It was a great day in any case. I have the whole thing on video from the ground. Yes, practice throws!... then comes that first clear and pull!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!! I can't wait
  17. HI ALL, I hope everybody had a GREAT weekend. I did, cuz I got to make my second SL jump . With the wind, storms and clouds I was beginning to have my doubts, but I finally got up before the sunset load... which is a whole other story
  18. WOW! That's quite a difference. Conclusion: The guy that said it was unsafe should see those numbers. Thanks Everybody! Especially you, Cloud! Blue Skies, Geek
  19. LOL! If you can't hear the ball bounce around in the cup, BEWARE! Back in the day when I was in the Navy we had some mysterious dude who would crap just past the threshhold of the hatch exitting "officer's country". The first officer to leave in the morning was usually the one who "found" it as he stepped through the hatch. The dude was never caught, but we had a new slogan for the junior officers on the ship. "The early bird gets the turd." hehe Geek
  20. I was taught a similar method to Mark's... Same steps, different order: Look red Reach red Look silver Pull red Reach silver Pull silver TTFN, Geek
  21. Some people just have too much time on their hands. I got a question. Why in the heck ... oh nevermind
  22. At my DZ we scoot around on our butts backwards rather than crawl... there's no room in the c182 to turn around by the door. Geek
  23. Is Sangiro an awesome "Head Honcho" or what? I stopped in during happy hour for a bit last night. Sangiro was there. I'm logged in most of the day to monitor the forums. Sangiro's there. How many web sites can you go to and the web-god is there to talk to? Not many. Even fewer are the web-gods that listen to their visitors and give 'em something fun like happy hour! I've only been a member for a week or so and I'm really impressed. I think Sangiro runs a great web site with a great attitude and deserves a FREE BEER FROM EACH OF US! Sangiro, CHEERS! GeekStreak
  24. "Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it." Goethe I don't think he was thinking about pickles when he said that.
  25. Ditto that Omri!! I can't seem to get any work done since I found this place.
