Just a matter of time... You'll need lots of cold weather big wall time. Between Argentinia and Chile. Do a google search and skip the Ads for Patagonia clothing. (Never wear "North Face" on the North Face either..) t It's the year of the Pig.

You're confused? So it could be true then, and you just don't recall it? Or it's not true, you don't know anything about it, but will check to see more about Patagonia later, while the word P-A-T-A-G-O-N-I-A rolls of your tongue. Mmm. Like the sound of that. Do you climb? If you do - you'll go there one day. Great rock. t It's the year of the Pig.

Ooops. Bumped into one of those ex mil dudes that knows everything... Err. No. But I do know it's in a lot more Russian and Chinese stuff than you guys have lying about. Want to give me a clue? t It's the year of the Pig.

I resent that. They're not stories. It's all true! As for their 5th car being stolen... how many did they have left? Stuff gets nicked. Its redistribution of the wealth. People can steal a bunch of stuff from you here... but not your sense of humour. If I lose that... I can just smile at myself in the mirror! So. Are the Patagonia rumours true? t It's the year of the Pig.

I said "may" stop off in Patagonia. She sounds interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if she did... but ZA? Not for the faint hearted! t It's the year of the Pig.

Cos she's an American girl going to London and may stop off in Patagonia along the way. People like people who do stuff. (That and everyone's talking about her - and you're promoting that!) t It's the year of the Pig.

No Way! It's the Smile and look in the mirror which is copywrited! t It's the year of the Pig.

You mean like this one? I like the smell of marsipan... t It's the year of the Pig.

Yeah... In September SUMMER will be here! t It's the year of the Pig.

Only half kidding... What's the point of having an unrealistic body image that's attainable? t It's the year of the Pig.

Cool! Congratulations! I only did 26 jumps in my 1st YEAR! t It's the year of the Pig.

I follow Rhino's old "pre Mirror" advice, and I see everything... It's timeconsuming... but I'm getting there! t It's the year of the Pig.

Unless you're a really big fish (relative to your pond, of course) - in which case you give the others a "fuck you" on their way out. t It's the year of the Pig.

I'm not sure. When is it due? t It's the year of the Pig.

112lbs? I said 113? Sorry. You looked 113 in your Avitar. What did you weigh when that picture was taken? t It's the year of the Pig.

WRT Safety, Gerry has his finger on the pulse. Your DZ has low lift capacity and time is on your side. Under loading a canopy can be dangerous when jumping in windy or turbulent conditions. Gerry (and common sense) will not allow that. As you know, I already consider you overweight, at 113 lbs. Since you'll need to lose some weight - you should stop using ANY harness that does not fit you. I believe many of the problems you experienced on progression could be attributed to ill fitting gear. Admit it. You like skydiving. Downsize sensibly. 190, 170 then settle on a 150 for a bit. Make sure your landings are both good (stand-up) and accurate. (where you want to be) Do a search for Billvon's "Are you ready to downsize?" list. PM me if you have more questions. t t It's the year of the Pig.

A pilot chute in tow. When you have succesfully deployed your pilot chute, but the bag has not been released from the container. Reasons could range from a colapsed pilot chute, pilot chute entangled with bridle, pilot chute blown up/torn, bridle incorrectly routed etc. A bridle entangled with feet etc would be classified as a horseshoe malfunction, particularly if the container is open. t It's the year of the Pig.

I still have my old Dytter. Batteries lasted 5 years or 1000 dives. It was accurate and never failed, but is not as loud as today's audiables. When I see audiables with 3 warnings and helmets with 2 dytter pockets - and people post about not relying on them - I think its mainly bullshit. Set it for your hard deck, and (if) when you hear it - do what you need to do. It's old - but its good kit. t It's the year of the Pig.

Good or bad idea...

Bill - I was kidding. Read my profile. I have some skill. I don't think I'm "stupid" for my choice though. Caviliar perhaps. Stupid - no. I'm going off the PIA dual square report. t It's the year of the Pig.
-
For me - 13 kts is high. I won't jump over 15. "High winds" are a relative term. No. I recomend people's reserve/main combo are comparable, as that's what was recomended in the PIA dual square report. I jump a Stilleto 107. I feel my 120 is a conservative size and performance when compared to my main, but within the same size category. t It's the year of the Pig.

I've had my own war, and had my own pressure. The soldier had a brain fart. He was shitting himself - and when someone pointed something harmless at him, he over reacted. It's the classic "shoot now - ask questions later" philosophy. It's sad. It's understandable. Shit happens. But he wasn't right. The journo was doing his job. The soldier fucked up his. t It's the year of the Pig.
-
Really? I would have thought he would have been video'ed. Did he really need to shoot to defend himself? Against a camera? I don't think so. t It's the year of the Pig.

Yes. To all your questions. I am lucky. The more experience I get, the luckier I am. A tight spot is irrelevant if you can put the canopy down where you want to. Not need to. Higher loading is of benefit in higher winds, but I don't jump in winds stonger than 15kts. Ever. Tall trees (or any other object) directly up wind will only affect you if its windy. Read my last paragraph. There is always next weekend to jump - but only if you make it through this one. I've been jumping over 18 years. I'm in no hurry. You have a problem with small reserves. I don't. t t It's the year of the Pig.

I know the thread was about things going bad...(and I did read it) but when it comes to matters of the heart - I'm a positive thinker! I try not to lead too much. I see a lot of men marching off into the distance alone. I'd prefer to stay behind! t It's the year of the Pig.
