I assume you are military from your avatar. Check with some of the insurance companies which cater to military such as Navy Relief, USAA, or MOAA. I have MOAA and asked them about skydiving. They said I was covered (no bump in premiums), but, due to an exclusion for experimental/aerobatic civilian flight, I might not be covered if the plane crashes before I can jump. So if I ever do go in with the plane, I am asking anyone out there to please drag my body out of the plane, stick it in my car and push it over a cliff. Sprinkle liberally with alcohol if you want (the cheap stuff will be fine), cause that's all covered. My wife will be very grateful. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Dealing with line twists on elliptical canopies

Start early to avoid spinning when you get line twists. When you pack, use your pullup cord to tie the large rings of your three ring together. Then when you make your stows, they will be even. Has worked pretty well thus far. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics. -

Just got it...just read it. Very informative and helpful. Lots of good info and things to try. Best explanation of an entry point for a swoop I've ever seen. Diagrams coupled with verbiage lay it out nicely. Personal failing probably, but I wanted more discussion about the actions from plane out to full stop. Took a course with Scott Miller and with what he put out coupled with Brian's book, I feel pretty good, but I would have liked to compare and contrast the two. So my signing up on their website to demo a XF2 with the promise that they could charge my card $65 for the experience is pretty much an exercise in futility? Oh well, I guess exercise is good for you. Nothing to do but move on to try something else, then. Anyone know any company that might want to rent me a canopy on the chance that I will like it enough to buy it? I believe that's how capitalism works, isn't it? Shit happens. Did you use it as a wrist altimeter without the backplate? I called them once and that was the first and last thing the mentioned to me. My experience; battery dead after less than six months stopped on the climb to altitude and would not reset until I took the battery out and reinserted it added a jump which I did not make and I did not notice until I had made another jump. No way to go back and erase a jump other than the last one, had to erase two and reenter the number and time in the Summary Log once recorded two jumps on one jump All of that being said, I really like it. I like the information it provides, I like the display format, I like the switch from freefall to canopy mode, I like the ease of operation. All things considered, I'm glad I bought it. Shit happens.
