They're not innocent until Mike Farrell says they are innocent. And if you don't like the justice system, then you can just move to another country, like Europe or Samoa. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Just heard both Bush and Hole have signed to join the Pope-apalooza concert tour this summer. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Not saying I disagree with you, but that would get you banned from literally half the DZ's in the state. Other alternatives exist to get current. PM me if interested. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Um, Tandem Skydive? Just a shot. Indoor rock climbing, racing little cars, going to a rent a gun place and firing away. Close to the water? Charter fishing, sailing, scuba, snorkeling,... Did I mention tandem skydives? Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Mickey Rourke. He was carried in Diner, and after that it was all downhill. He makes Keanu look like Olivier. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

I seem to remember in the late 70's, the Smithsonian Air And Space Museum did a tribute to skydiving and simulated a life-size 4-way star formation, suspended from the ceiling. I believe one of the figures represented Bill O (I think one of the others was Jerry Bird. Can't remember 3 and 4.). He was recognized for the great things he did for our sport way back then. Never met the man, but am benefitting from his accomplishments to this day. BSBD Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Rumor has it, one of the CG pilots flying it with NVG on saw a glow (through the goggles) near the engine which he thought meant it was on fire. He declared an emergency and he and the sensor operator bailed out. It was doubtful there was anything wrong with the plane. I heard the pilot retired shortly thereafter. And no, I never flew fixwing, but thanks for asking. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

There is Camp Mokuleia across the road from the DZ and some cabins just down the road. Can't think of the cabin's names, but they are relatively cheap. Turtle Bay is the only "resort" on the north shore. It is a pretty good drive down the coast, especially since the big ones will be hitting about that time and, from Turtle Bay, you will have to drive passed Sunset, Pipeline, and Waimea and through Haleiwa to get to Dillingham. The north shore is a great place, but gets a little hectic in the winter, especially Haleiwa. But if you have ever been to a big city during rush hour, it is still doable. Here's a hint though, Never blow your horn! The DZ's are about 75 yards apart on the same road. If you want to freefly, you will probably want to go to PISC. If you want to do RW, then Skydive Hawaii would be better, although, there are some freeflyers there as well. PISC has a King Air. SDH has a Caravan. Both DZ's have very good people working there and will be more than happy to help you. As stated previously, the jumping ends when the tandems run out. A noon to 2:00 sunset load is not uncommon. You will have more of an opportunity to jump with others on the weekend. If need more info, PM me. Going up tomorrow and will try to get you the name of the cottages across the street. Occasionally available to jump during the week if you want to do a two-way or get some video of you with Kaena Point in the background. And getting out over the water isn't that bad, after you've done it a few times. And there are plenty of outs if you have a bad spot, and most of them are beaches. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

I loosen my chest strap as much as possible without fully disengaging it. I purchased the rig about six years ago and did not even consider an extra long chest strap. One of the first options on the next rig. I am thinking one or two of my actions allowed me to get close enough to the line to snag it. The first is after the plane out, I usually lean forward in the harness (for the efficacy of that maneuver, see the thread in the Swooping forum) as far and as rapidly as the situation dictates. I also use harness input to carve a little (< 90 degrees) at the bottom. I believe either one or both of these events allowed the brake line to initially get close to the visor and then the toggle application locked it in. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Thought I would post an incident that happened yesterday for the info of all. Upon opening, I usually stow the slider, then open the visor of my Z1 and push it up, out of the way. Yesterday I did all of that and made a riser turn to final. At the bottom of the approach, the canopy planed out and I started my toggle application. I realize now, my first move is down with the toggles, then back. During the approach yesterday, I did just that and the right brake line snagged between the visor and the helmet just as I started to move my arms back. It locked in pretty well. The momentum of toggle application meant I continued to apply a little more left than right which started a left turn low to the ground. I was almost able to run it out, Almost is always funny. Bruised pride and slightly damaged ego was all that happened. Tried to consider the worst case for such a scenario and decided that using toggles to turn to final or someone a little nervous in the air (newby or new canopy?) who had this happen at 900-ish feet (ill-advised low chop?) could be the worst. Anyway, it happened and thought I would share. And Airspeed makes it look so easy. I hate those guys! Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Well, we had the first fifteen footers on the northshore yesterday...and tourists descending on Pipeline today... We all have our crosses to bear. I feel for you. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Skydiving is not an excuse for lack of fashion sense people!!

I still mourn the loss of the option to wear Garanimals. They were truly a boy's best friend. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics. -
I seem to recall an incident report from the late 70's which reported an individual starting to fall out of his rig in a manner similar to this incident, where the individual made a last chance stab at his rig and actually grabbed the Last Hope Rope and pulled himself back in. That was the first I'd ever heard of them and my local rigger told me,"I knew those things could save your life." Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

I have the 3rd Edition and it is in Chapter 5, High Speed Approaches and Landings: the section is Altitude-Location Checkpoints. The exact quote is: "Do not vary the "Initiation Altitude", only the location of the initiation point." Earlier he states: "It is essential to understand that the entry into the pattern does not vary in altitude." And later he defines "Initiation Point" as: "the location at which you being your turn". As I look at it now, I am beginning to think he means that from 90 to 90 (ad nauseum) do not vary your altitude but vary the IP for the effects of the wind, DA, etc. Mahalo for the input. I read it early in the day thus possibly explaining the apparent befuddlement. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

On page 74 of Brian Germain's book, he states that the initiation altitude for all entries should be the same regardless of the degrees of the turn to final. I have been using about 400 feet if it is a 90, 600 for a 180, and 800 for a 270. I assume what he he is saying is all of them should be initiated at 800 with a lot more carving on the 90 and 180. I am by no means doubting wht Brian says (Everytime I reread the book, I pick up something new and worthwhile.). Just wondering what your standard practice is on this and if you agree with my interpretation. Mahalo Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

I heard last night (possibly Dennis Praeger. Okay, okay, okay, I listen to talk radio. No one plays heavy metal at that time of night.) a prediction that by 2050, Muslims will be in the majority in France and what we are seeing is the start of a Civil War in France, which may spread throughout Europe. Seems to be some agreement for that here as well. The curse of "May you live in intereting times", may be upon Europe. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

At one time, lo those many years ago, fiscally you were considered successful if you were making your age times $1,000 annually. Now that would probably be 2 -2.5 times that. Personally, I would think that if you wake up happy, that's a pretty good indicator. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Pizza Bob's. Your wedding night. You're the DD. Make sure you have enough room in your front seat for a pizza and two pitchers of beer. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

If you do this, check out McSorley's Ale House 15 East Seventh Street. The oldest bar in NYC. You can wander around the place just reading the stuff on the walls. Order at least three beers each when you get there. They're small. I think it would be from the Brooklyn Esplanade. Afterwards, walk across the Brooklyn Bridge to the Manhattan side and under the bridge visit Jeremy's Ale House (take an extra bra or tie for a free beer), the Fulton Fish Market, Wall Street, and Pier 17. You can, from there walk down to the Battery to catch the Staten Island ferry or the Statue of Liberty Ferry. Along the way, visit Fraunces Tavern (George Washington got down with his bad self there.) Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

The picture attached to this post was taken in 2002. These are the warning shots used prior to the disabling fire. Approximately six months after this photo was taken, the only US unit authorized to use this doctrine hosted a visit by a contingent of British sailors interested in engaging in the same tactics. These go-fasts run everyday, so I guess the question is, "What took you guys so long?" BTW, between 2001 and 2004, this unit interdicted $1.5B worth of cocaine. Thank you. Shit happens. First, I firmly believe the holocaust did occur. I have no doubts about that. When I first read your post, I thought, surely there must be more to it than that. From my US-based perspective, I believe our First Amendment would allow the right to espouse this or any such belief, however distasteful. It appears I was wrong. From this site, It would be interesting to note how far this ban extends. Would he be extradicted if he had denied the events in Statlin's USSR, the Ukraine of 1932, Bengal (1945), Cambodia, East Timor, Rwanda, Yugoslavia? THE holocaust was truly a horrid event, but so were they all. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.
