  1. Another awesome dz that I'd highly recommend near sydney is Gloucester. Its about 3 hours north of Sydney. Much smaller and more personal dz than Picton, lots of fun! Their website is http://www.tandemskydiving.com.au I jump at Picton usually, and you'll probably get more jumps in one day at Picton but Gloucester rocks for the friendliness and people seem to have a bit more time for you there (no offence to everyone at picton!) - just depends what you're after really. Edited to make clicky. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  2. My boyfriend jumps, but I think the problem we might have is that he has more money than I do, so I cant jump every weekend (anymore) and he wants to. Luckily though I can understand that, so I think I'm going to start packing so I can earn some more money and he can jump all weekend like he wants. I'd date a wuffo though. My boyfriend says he wouldnt. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  3. Do a search of the forums, this has been discussed before a few times so I'm sure all the info you need is there.
  4. I dreamt I had a bag lock, and climbed up the lines to get the canopy out of the bag and clear it! If only it would work so well in reality! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  5. Finishing work in 25 minutes so i can go to my boyfriends house and spend the rest of the weekend with him. Also, some fun nights at clubs and parties coming up in the next month! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  6. I just checked for clarification, and you are right, they require you to have a display licence, but also a minimum of 200 jumps. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  7. I'm pretty sure you need a minimum of a D licence to jump there (but they may have changed it recently to C minimum). There are a lot of hazards - the ocean, houses and a nice big hotel accross the road from the landing area to name a few. There are a lot of outs too, but you need to prove you know what you're doing before they let you jump there. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  8. Oops, I forgot all about this. Sounds like I really missed out! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  9. I'm at work at the moment, so can someone tell me what time TT is on? www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  10. Thats the reason I do my chest strap first too. I put my leg straps on first, but I dont tighten them until I've done up the chest strap. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  11. If you land at the same time as another canopy you fucked up. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  12. I bought myself a really nice pair of board shorts. They cost me 2.5 jump tickets which I know I will regret since I am spending all 2 weeks of my holidays at a DZ I haven't jumped at before, but the shorts are nice none the less! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  13. I usually log my jumps after the weekend is done. I put a bit of detail into it, how the exit went, if fall rates were a problem etc and what I can do in the future to improve (sometimes). Everyone tells me I'll stop logging in so much detail when I have more jumps, and they're probably right. Right now it's fun re-reading my log books and remembering paticular jumps. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  14. - Don't break myself - Train to compete at the Nationals in 2006. - More CRW and canopy training Basically though, I just want to get good enough at 4 way to go to the Nationals and have a chance of coming in the top 5 - 10 teams (depending on how many teams competeing) www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  15. The xmas boogie will be heaps of fun. I jump at Picton normally, but am only going to be there for the 26th and 27th, then we're heading up to Toogoolawah for New Years Eve. I'm a bit bummed that I'm going to miss the xmas boogie at picton, but toogoolawah will be awesome aswell I'm sure! Have fun at Picton!

  17. I think the best way to practice packing is by actually doing it after you jump. The incentive to pack faster is there because you know you are missing loads, there's no incentive at home - except that packing is a pain in the ass and you wish you'de never unpacked it in the first place! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  18. I jump at Picton to, but I dont think I know who you are either! Welcome to the forums anyway, have fun, learn as much as your mind can hold, and don't forget to pull! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  19. I wouldn't cutaway below 1000'. If my main had really gone to shit below that and was unlandable/unsurvivable I would put my reserve out too, and deal with the consequences. I've seen a video of a low cutaway that resulted in a semi inflated reserve on impact. I wouldnt take my chances below 1000'. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  20. I learnt how to pack when i was doing AFF and packed my own rig as soon as I started jumping it, at about 20 jumps. I'd rather know exactly how my rig was packed and what to expect of the opening. Also, I think it's the best way to know your gear. I know people with over 100 jumps who dont even know how to close their container, let alone how to pack the canopy that goes in it! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  21. Right now I am the only one at the office. My boss leaves, but he doesnt leave me anything to do! When he walks is I will have to close dz.com down and pretend it took me 2 hours to type out what actually took 10 minutes to type. Generally to look busy I flick around old files on the computer, but since you cant do that maybe just have some of your old research paperwork next to you so you can pretend to be reading that whenever your boss comes around. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  22. Hope you had a good time here bobby, but you really should have done more jumping and less packing! Money schmoney! Hope the flight home wasnt too bad (in economy ). You'll be back, no one wants to stay away from us too long! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  23. When this sort of thing happens I usually just end it. There's too many fish in the sea to waste your time with someone who is annoying you. Having said that, I dont have the best track record by way of relationships, so maybe just try talking to him, never worked for me, but that's just me. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  24. It takes me a little less than an hour and a half to get to the dz. I make the drive every weekend, it's definately worth it, although I always complain about the long drive, but it seems some people drive much further to jump! I need to stop complaining. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
  25. I jump at Picton every weekend, it's an awesome dz. You'll have lots of fun there. I spent last weekend at Gloucester which is a lot smaller than Picton, and the people there are awesome. They are all so welcomming, I only got 2 jumps in because of bad weather, but I had the best weekend ever. I am trying to get back up there in the next few weeks. I would recommend this dz to absolutely anyone. Check out their website http://www.tandemskydiving.com.au/ Have fun is australia! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
