  1. BANG... Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  2. I say we get the USPA to dig in their closet and bring back some of their promotional stickers from the past. Classics such as: "Need Air? SKYDIVE!" or "SKYDIVE The remedy for road rage" Better yet "Y2K FIX? SKYDIVE!" And my favorite WTF, "SKYDIVING THE SPORT OF PRESIDENTS" Although I thought this one was kinda cute, "SKYDIVE Because your mother told you not to" Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  3. Fire eating is always good for a yuck or two. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  4. I've stolen his line from this documentary. When people ask why I skydive nekkid in Wisconsin in the winter time, I tell them, "It is in the name of scientific research. I want to prove it is physically impossible to freeze your ass off." Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  5. Cheater!! Safety gear. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  6. Or it could be just the opposite: JM: Which exit are you most comfortable with? Student: Diving exit JM: OK, then we'll do a poised exit. (The above did not happen to me 3 times in my student progression.) Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  7. Probably scared the crap out of them ! Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  8. I want to throw something out there. As someone who regularly exposes his entire body to excessive wind chills , it has been my observation that adrenalin might have some physiological effect on the cold on the body. Example: A few years ago, I made 2 jumps under almost identical winter conditions, including same altitude. One jump I was nekkid, the other I was wearing my normal jumping gear. I felt much colder on the clothed jump. Even my fingers, which have a tendency to freeze up when cold, indicated I was colder on that jump. (Same gloves, both jumps). I felt the cold on the nekkid jump but it didn't reach me. I'm sure there are other factors that could have affected things but the difference was so drastic that I noted it. I know that the jumping rush is greater for me when nekkid. I believe that translates into some sort of additional protection. 9. Air Show Disaster Amazing photo shows great detail. The pilot at low level had no control over his aircraft. It narrowly misses a crowd gathered for the airshow and slams into four buildings. One can only imagine the horror of the occupants inside those buildings. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  10. I'm sure that if I ate a complete rig, I be leaving deposits for days !! (Sorry, couldn't resist.) Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  11. That was just the first link I could find. There was a half hour long show about it. It was great. They spent 50 years and 100 bazillion dollars engineering a set up. They give it a test with weights and the whole thing falls apart. The redesign it overnight and then put a human in it. Fortunately, it worked. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  12. Give Scott Smith a call. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  13. BN Skiing ??? That is just plain crazy !! Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  14. Most legitimate balloon operators have insurance. Most insurance policies require an expensive rider to drop parachutists. The "trouble" he could get into could be with his balloon insurance. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  15. http://www.iplummet.com/bell412.html Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  16. IIRC, Mr. Mullins denies it happened but there are like about 150 jumpers who swear they were on that load. The incident (allegedly) happened at Quincy. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  17. And in case anyone was wondering .... Shooting star Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  18. Wait. What?? Taxidermy class in high school? Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  19. Back to the OP's first post. He had two issues. First, he believes he has a bad canopy. That issue has been debunked here. The second issue is the lack of after-sale support from Icarus. No one has defended Icarus on this. IMHO, Icarus should be the one telling the OP that the canopy is fine and opens normally. If that had happened, the OP probably wouldn't have had to come here. I love my Omni 183.5 but I had the same lack-of-response from Icarus after I bought the canopy. Admittedly, that was years ago but I have not heard from anyone that the situation has improved. One would think that if Icarus wanted to have repeat business, they should take care of the customers they have. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  20. That would be silly . I've only packed it naked about 20 times. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  21. Do they have presidents in Canada? Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  22. But if you leave it on all the time then you have to replace the batteries every 18 months or so. YMMV Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  23. I have over 2,000 jumps on my Icarus Omni 183.5. No holes or patches, but it has been relined a couple times. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving
  24. I, like many others, was a remedial student. I hold the dropzone record for 15 second-delays (static line progression) at 13, instead of the normal 2. I was getting VERY frustrated. Then I did a self-evaluation. I wasn't doing anything unsafe, I was altitude aware, and I was skydiving. That was the key! Even if I did 15 second delays for the rest of my jumping career, I was still skydiving! The pressure was off and eventually I found the ability to be stable and moved on to the 30 second delays.
