Not quite sure, but my princess grew up in Siberia, and -55° in winter was the norm for her. Having lived in LA, the turtleneck comes out in the 50's. It's unfortunate that as you mak a personal attack on my "brightness" you can't even spell "unfortunate" right. - You guys are funny. "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

I agree with the first sentence. And I agree with the second one BECAUSE I agree with the first one.

I recon Thomas Jefferson might not have objected to some of his slaves/nannies getting abortions in order to keep the Jefferson population under control. And once again, I do agree with you. And no, it is not to shut you up. I do live in China, and can testify that at least from what I see (which is a very tiny part of the Chinese population), they manage to do quite well with the little they have/get. I understand it is a lot harder in the countryside though. But getting $5 bucks a day in Shanghai is not that bad considering a good Chinese meal sets you back around $1, and that if you don't mind sharing an apartment with a couple of families, it'll cost around $20/month. It's all about perception. "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

So we invade tommorow. You in? Can't tomorrow. Too busy abusing Chinese cheap labor to fatten the profit of my US corporation... "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

I totally agree with you.

I think it has to do with freedom not being on top of poor people's priority list. I'd think that basics such as food, shelter, and reproduction come first. Sometimes religion also comes in the mix. Freedom is a luxury that few people get to strive for. IMO. Indeed. However, in almost all cases, the wealthy minority rose against the regime, and the "little" people took care of the actual fighting and overthrowing. In most African countries, the wealthy cast usualy benefits from local regimes, hence making it unlikely it will spark an uprising. Based on 1940, you are right. But along these lines, Americans are well known for not getting involved from the get go (1914, 1939). Not sure it's a very productive pissing match though... shitty remarks regarding US Servicemen

I would hardly call it a complete change of political structure. Much like going from Democrats to Republicans is not a radical change in political structure in the US. However, I do give credit to Reagan in 83/84 for having the foresight to understand that the situation as it stood then could not in any way benefit neither the US nor his administration, and that sticking around could become a major political (and human) liability. Could it be that Spanish voters felt that way as well? I can't speak for them, but calling them cowards for making a democratic decision seems a little unfair to me. Wrong. YOU would have been tried for murdering your murderous wife. "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return." -

DING! In that same vein then, what should be said of the US pulling its forces out of Lebanon in 1983 after a truck suicide bombing? I myself would not call it the US dropping to its knee or rolling over. I do not believe the Marines nor the US government were cowards. I believe it had more to do with taking a second look at the mission, its goal, and how it applied to national interest. Could it be that Spain reacted the same way the US did in 1983? "CNN has chosen to not show the cartoons in respect for Islam out of fear of reprisal." Fixed it for them. Cheese Danish anyone? Well what do you know - Americans once again stay out of it. Kinda makes you wonder if a woman should be entrusted with "the Button." - Considering male CEOs and male murderers CVs, I highly doubt a woman would be less qualified to be incharge of "the button" than a man would. Hmmm... Is that what really happened? How did Spain drop to its knee and roll over for the terrorists? "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return." -

One trick I learned on one of my many travels when it comes to light bulbs: using a hammer and small nail, gently hammer the nail into the bulb, ever so softly. Then remove the nail. Using a microscopic funnel (you find them at any good midget appliance stores), slowly pour motor oil into the bulb,, about 3/4 full. Then soak the bulb in quick drying cement for 2 days. You'll be surprised how much lifetime it adds to the light bulb. I hope this was useful. Let me know how it goes. I'm not a big fan of mainstream newsmedia, but give credit where it's due. It's a business. It exists because of its customers. If the majority of people could deal with more than 10 secs blurbs, it would adapt and provide such pieces. Joe blow testing HIV positive doesn't mean shit to most people. Magic Johnson doing so hits close to "home", therefore becomes "relevant". And maybe there's some good in it if it allows some to realize what's happening out there. Best thing people can do about it is to stop watching/listening to/reading diluted news report and demand more. But it's unlikely it will happen. That's why there's always the option of watching reruns of Ali G late at night. All of them take a percentage. Some of them charge you to be on their roster. Other (over) charge for headshots, etc... It IS the norm. More so on the actors, directors and producers' perspective. Just bear in mind that you will not have a regular job, nor will you be able to keep a part time job for very long. I usually order casting calls based on MY schedule, and not the actors'. Not trying to discourage you by any means. It is a great industry. DO NOT sign with an agency that charges you to join. Getting into SAG has nothing to do with how long you wait. You need to get 3 Union vouchers as an extra, or Taft Hartley'd as a principal. But bear in mind that on any given day, only about 3% of SAG actors do work... Also, once you join SAG, you can not take non union work (which is most of small independent features). Commercials and major features are usually SAG. Just be ready to get very little work for a very long time... Good luck though. Have you ever punched a perfectly good wall?

No need for studs if you have hidden ice boxes from the 30's under a thin layer of plaster. Clean break, with bone puncturing/protruding through the skin. Bad juju. The little buggers are still going at it. It never stopped. Fireworks at 5AM is a little overkill. Especially when right under our bedroom window.
