Not nearly as much of a blast as seeing you chasing your free bag! "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

Depends on the woman. If it were you? "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

"We can't go changing the rules every time the wind blows." That's an interesting way to describe someone's death. "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

I spelled it right! VSG will be freeflying booty down! "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

Altitude awareness, audible altis, device dependence, etc
Frenchy68 replied to Orange1's topic in Safety and Training
IMO, practicing to tell rough altitude using your own eyes is an essential survival skill. The altitude at which the plane took off can be different than the altitude of the ground below you in freefall... Anyone knows if there are any American Vets who served in WWI still alive? The last French who served in WWI died a couple of years ago. Good day for remembrance indeed.

Need some serious help for a friend. Is there a Dr. in the house?

Exactly! Unless he was making out with the toilet bowl! "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return." -
We nailed a 5-way funnel at the Easter Boogie 2005 in Eloy! It was the rookie video guy's fault. "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

Well, sometimes good things come out of stupid bans. Since airlines have banned metal knifes and replaced them with plastic ones, I am actually able to cut through my food. And they can be broken into nifty little pointy thingies that can be used as... toothpicks! That way, I get the feeling of being safe AND I have a properly functiuning cutting and puncturing utensil. Life is good.

What's wrong with being <Country of parental/your origin>-American?
Frenchy68 replied to Newbie's topic in Speakers Corner
He said Continents, not countries, you silly. Pay attention! "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return." -

THis is a referendum about the new European Union's contitution. Sovereignty is part of it indeed, but not the sole point. In a nutshell, what the majority of French seem to be rejecting is a feeling that the new constitution favors capitalism at the cost of some of the "typically French" social issues (such as some government subsidies, etc...). I agree that there is an issue with having a referendum and ignoring the outcome. However, I doubt it will put a dent in demogracy in Europe and/or France. "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

...and how is that going to kill democracy? Are you telling me that there's never been any cases of the minority prevailing over the majority? It's going to cost Chirac his government though. There should be en masse resignations comes Monday morning. As much as I am not a fan of Chirac, the arguments put forward by the "No" camp, for most parts, do bother me. Lately, before I drink Absinthe, I lock my cell phone and laptop in a safe at the office. Much safer... "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

Allawi:Saddam sponsored the birth of Al Qaeda in Iraq
Frenchy68 replied to Gravitymaster's topic in Speakers Corner
Is the world a better place without Saddam in charge? More than likely. However, I have strong concerns as to whether the world will be a better place once the dust settles in Iraq. The Shah of Iran was certainly not a model of a democratic leader and defender of freedom. However, his replacement was certainly a much worse evil. As for the "clear them out of Iraq" bit, I wonder if you have read the news in the passed, say... 2 years? I didn't get my share yet, but it must be in the mail. I'll buy you a bouquet of flowers when I get it.
