I just checked the website...seems strange to me that we don't fly a 182, but that's the only ac mentioned. The staff pictured is also no one who works there. I'm wondering if the webmaster got a few things mixed up between SMB and Greg's other dropzones. Just an observation. The greatest risk you take in life is the risk you don't take.

WestCoast Wingsuit Weekend May 12-14th 2006
idoru99 replied to bodypilot1's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I plan on being there, as does a friend of mine from SMB. The greatest risk you take in life is the risk you don't take. -
I did this exact thing last summer, only I stayed in a tent. Hihky recommend the IHOP or bunkhouse. This turned out to be one of the best times I had in skydiving so far. Learned a lot and met quite a few great people. Hope you have a great time in your quest for a week off. The greatest risk you take in life is the risk you don't take.

Skydive Monterey Bay - New plane, DZO
idoru99 replied to brianfry713's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I completely agree. Even with my low numbers, I've realized that. That's exactly why the regular upjumpers there are really trying to make people feel welcome. Things started to change a couple months ago and it's slow going to change the atmosphere, but I believe it is moving in the right direction. Skydive Monterey Bay - New plane, DZO

Hey Brian, It was good seeing you at SMB again, sorry I didn't get to jump with you. Next time, we got to get a ws jump in, at least. Let me kn ow next time you plan on being in the area and I'll make sure I'll be there. You're right about the price for the tickets, except that it's a $5 increase to go to 18K. I was told to wait a week when I asked the red cross about it. The greatest risk you take in life is the risk you don't take.

I believe they are opening a DZ in the midwest somewhere. At least that's what I think that's what I was told last weekend. The greatest risk you take in life is the risk you don't take.

I've got about 100 jumps on a Sabre 190 and now about 70 on a sabre2 170. I understand not exactly similar due to different sizes, however... I found my Sabre openings to go similar to this...snivel, snivel, snivel, thwack, turn. I just accepted it. I did have 3 openings that felt like insta-canopies that had me seeing stars and cussing while trying to see straight. With the Sabre2, I've had very good openings, ALWAYS have end cell closures, but it usually flies straight. I do nothing to the nose while packing and roll the tail about 4 times before laying it down. Would never have been caught dead doing that with the Sabre1. The difference in openings is night and day, in my limited experience. As someone already mentioned, the only similarities is the "Sabre" in the name. Hope this helps. AFAIK, no. They are the only rigs I've seen with them, but I don't get out of CA much for sjydiving, someone else may know more. The greatest risk you take in life is the risk you don't take.

Are you talking about the miniforce rings that Aerodyne uses? if so, they are supposed to reduce the force needed to cut away. The greatest risk you take in life is the risk you don't take.

Laundry list of screw-ups (long)
idoru99 replied to masterblaster72's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm pretty low numbers myself, but I was also under the impression that kiting a canopy in the landing area also disturbs the air behind it potentially causiung "dirty" air for others to fly through. Is this correct or ahve I been misinformed? Thanks. The greatest risk you take in life is the risk you don't take. -
Yes they really are open on the weekdays, and yes the otter flies on weekends. Made 6 jumps Saturday from it, starting at 9am. The view is great, the winds can come up though mid-day. The greatest risk you take in life is the risk you don't take.

I'm another newbie, however at 225 (with gear) and 5'9'' I have the same problem. I got some coaching (tunnel) to work on fall rate and was told "our bodies are not parachutes, they don't hold air very well." In order to slow down, I was told to throw all legs and arms out as far as I could (make a big X). This would slow me down as much as possible. After that, just adjust to match fallrates with others. Also, I've started anticipating going low during point transitions, so as I let go of grips, I flatten out my arch a little to keep from going low. This may or may not help you, but I would suggest trying it out. Since my coaching, I've stopped "hugging the beach ball" and dont' go low nearly as often as I used to. Hope this helps. edited because my spelling sucks The greatest risk you take in life is the risk you don't take.

If I remember correctly, the brake will release on opening. If both were stowed ike that, full flight; if only one stowed that way, the canopy will turn until the second brake is released. The greatest risk you take in life is the risk you don't take.

I spoke with Brian about this yesterday during a break in his canopy course. He isn't taking signature series orders at the moment. However, I'd recommend the same as the rest, email him and ask. He's a great person, full of great information. The greatest risk you take in life is the risk you don't take.

They did for those who were in Iraq, but that went away in March, according to them when I called them about it after returning. The greatest risk you take in life is the risk you don't take.

245/200/150/15 since beginning DZ.com weightloss threads. -2 since last week, after 2 weeks of holding steady. Over halfway to my goal.

The same happened to me when I ordered mine...I didn't hear from them after payment or after trying to get in touch with them. 5 weeks after the order, my suit showed up out of the blue. It did take a few days to get through customs, I believe the shipping took just over a week. I hope everything goes well for your g/f and she gets her suit. But, yeah, this seems to be something that happens every once and a while with them. The greatest risk you take in life is the risk you don't take.
