stitching is there to be unstitched You sometimes need to open a bit more of teh canopy to patch in some places, and then re-close everything. Just like a surgeon when he needs to do an operation. He doesn't always use the "natural" openings. Sometimes he needs to make a bit more space to be able to work. I hope you are not using smaller than E thread on parachutes....
