IMHO it's up to the TM to step up and refuse the jump in such conditions. If you accept to do the jump, you must be prepared to assume ALL responsabilities, from "bad publicity due to passengers unhappy with conditions" to "hurting/killing a passenger because you need to earn 50$" scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

Snowkite crossover - Ozone Speedflying
piisfish replied to powerline's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I don't fly "yet". IIRC it was since beginning of 2007 that the Swiss Paragliding Federation recieved the responsability of speedriding/flying whatever. Best is to get in touch with the local paragliding schools where you fly... they can tell you where/when/how. As always, as long as you don't hurt anybody or yourself, and don't get caught because you don't have the ridiculous immatriculation we need as Swiss, you'll be fine The reason we need a license is for the 3rd party liabilty, in case you hurt someone/break something which isn't yours. For your own accidents, we have an insurance which is paid by our employers and covers almost anything. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -

Packer common courtesies...
piisfish replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
they don't, they just shove a bunch of nylon in a bag and close it. nothing against packers, they are useful, people might need them. But it seems to me some people rely too much on them, and become themselves uncapable of packing their own parachute. for the O.P. learn to pack for yourself, pack A LOT, you will save A LOT of money and learn how your gear works and see by yourself how your gear is getting used and abused. After that, you can use your packer for your lazy days or when you need to do stuff between your jumps. And tip him/her whatever you feel like. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
