the difference between setting your altimeter and your Cypres (I don't know for the other AAD's so I won't comment) is that with your altimeter you are indicating on it what altitude you are at relative to your intended landing area. You will indicate your Cypres how much higher or lower your landing area is relative to your take-off area. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

noone never told you that you needed one ? or that you should take care of obtaining one yourself ? in that case, yes it would be a huge mistake from their side. in case they wrote it down somewhere and you didn't read it, the mistake would be on your side. it's a part of my job, and people often just DON'T read what you write scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

interesting video with tandem headdown

the rig is french, the jumpers are french, jumping in France... The rating is not given by the manufacturer.. and maybe it was not intentional but the TI was having trouble getting stable on the belly. I'd rather see a TI who can fly a tandem head down, more than one who gets side-spinned if the passenger hold one hand out. The TI is very talented in many disciplines. FS, Freefly, BASE jumping, wingsuit flying. The passenger is the TI's wife, and also a very talented lady. Everybody goes OOOH and AAAAH when seeing their videos, for several years.... and then comes some "regulation-know-it-all" wanting to get everyones rating scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
as most of the french gear... Now PdF manufactures mostly in South Africa. Remember the PD reserves come from Venezuela or costa Rica or something exotic like that ? scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

the techno is a great reserve canopy. Flies great, opens as good as any other, and it does support some higher wingloadings. My only ride was with a 115 loaded around 1.6. It was my 1st reserve ride. Landed where I wanted, and more or less how I wanted (hadn't taken into account the "longer" toggle stroke you have on reserves) I am unaware of TSO's etc so it is possible that you could not have it in a US container. the BOR is VERY impressive. Hats off. EVerybody will be happy that the Cup will probably be won/lost on water and not in court. The massive performance of the BOR kills the interest of match racing, but well, nobody will blame them for not putting the brakes on just for the interest of race tactics. Congratulations to BOR Sailing Team and Design Team for this first race
