  3. Provided you work more than 8 hours per week, accident insurance is paid by your employer. What you need extra is a 3rd party liability insurance (if you jump private gear). You can get that via Swissskydive on their website. Write to the federation secretary, he can help you with that. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
  4. Hey Scott, are you still alive ? Around ? Apparently you haven't logged on the forum for about a year, so I am the first one to wish you a happy birthday in advance. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
  5. I am aware that skydiving helmets are mostly considered as "low protection", camera/audible supports, ear warmers... But helmets like for example the Cookie G3 have D3O linings. Are there any other helmets with "protective" linings ? What would be the actual protection ? How does it compare with, for example, ski helmets ? Any helmet manufacturers posting here ? scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
  6. Where do you jump? Do you work in Switzerland? What insurance are you looking for ? Accident (health) or third party insurance? scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
  7. Nothing rational I like both the Infinity and the Vortex I prefer a fully enclosed reserve pilot chute The vortex is a very nice rig though. And you can get a Skyhook on it (if you want), as it is the most "common/popular" MARD on the market (at least for now) scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
  8. Pro-choice. Why do you ask? Derek V was just trying to correlate pro-guns and pro-life... you might be an exception then. Thanks for answering though. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

  21. I had the opportunity to try one of these simulators at the PIA Symposium in Barcelona about 10 years ago and found it interesting, but the cost of such a machine is not realistic for civilian use. Some paragliding training with older paragliders (whose flight characteristics are close to student canopies) is a great alternative (in my opinion) scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

  24. My suggestions were for more "neutral" advice, but also remember that if you throw a rock in any direction in Eloy, chances are pretty high you will hit a rigger. Also you have 2 civilian manufacturers for rigs (1 of which also manufactures canopies) right there, at 5 minutes by foot from manifest. (Rigging Innovations and Firebird). And if you want a nice and inexpensive rig, ask RI if they would make a Genera for you. It is not fancy bling bling, but very efficient and at a very good price (or used to be). Before buying, put in the balance : what you need, what you want, what is available on the market and what is your budget. I do not recommend buying new (or expensive) gear at an early stage (better save on the gear and spend on the jumps). You will get a better notion with time of the evolution you want to give to your gear renewal. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
