Cut out the 'push the DB Cooper thread down' posts??
piisfish replied to pchapman's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
I agree that this forum is actually one of the most interesting, and we should all try our best to keep the best noise-to-signal ratio. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
still looks safer than the JCR Technology flapping wing design scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

Well, if we're still here and alive, maybe that means we might have a good eye for what works and what probably won't work. you might want to reformulate that... If we all had to design and build our own parachutes (and jumpships), Bill Booth would have revolutionized coronering (if the word exists) scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

it is carbonfuckingfiber, and 4 engines www.jet-man.com congrats to Octocopterman. I guess many of us wish they had the courage/time/balls to try to build and fly a different proto aircraft

I sent an email to UPT asking for a soft handle. A reply came back asking why, i said i really prefer a positive grip THROUGH the handle. the next reply was "good answer". The likelyhood of a hard pull is going to be higher on a cutaway, I want the best leverage i can get should i need it. The rigid textile loop (like Basik) would be my choice if I had to get a loop handle. There were (don't know if they still exist) soft textile loop handles, which were mega-flat and would get very easily swallowed into wingsuits. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

Shenanigans ? Packing/packers issue
piisfish replied to KevinMcguire89's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
That's a problem. 1. Sometimes GPS is wrong. It's a mechanism, and mechanisms sometimes malfunction. Or maybe someone makes a mistake while using it, and/or the pilot mistakenly turns on the green light at the wrong time. sometimes a country which holds control on GPS's goes to war and offsets GPS data for non-military users scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
It seems your canopy would still have a "pretty high" loading, but would nevertheless be your best choice between the 3 canopies you mention. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

"ratting out" one someone; would you do it!?
piisfish replied to virgin-burner's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
VB, you know, that would also apply for people playing out of their leagues with any canopy, wingsuit, skysurf or videocamera.... You name it, there is always a way to play where you have no business. It sure pisses people off, but we all want to continue playing our games. I even know a guy who was jumping a Mach1 suit.... scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -

Fuck Yeah, not because I care for the other person, I just don't want to hear from my relatives and whuffos and 20minuten.ch how much skydiving is dangerous. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
