thanks for getting the thread back on the tracks. For me interesting flocking is when people need to pop their fingers out of their asses and NOT fly "comfortable", but give a high percentage of what they can do. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

there was this video by Olivier Vietti where they Dbagged a paraglider from a Pilatus TurboPorter. It worked out fine

actually the parts which "scares" me, is that you went wingsuiting off cliffs without basic aerobatic knowledge., and also that you do your first attemps at backflying in groups... But hey, not blaming... We all do mistakes, and most often we come out unscathed...

Why on Earth would you call a High Performance canopy "Undertaker"
piisfish replied to nigelh's topic in Gear and Rigging
well it was that or "Widowmaker" Who has that name for a canopy anyways ? Was it a Halloween joke ? scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
There is a need to find a good leader (who can hold a vertical and horizontal speed) (you have one, I have one ), then people who would say out loud what he needs (that's what I do) and also ask other people what their needs are, and then you have a good recipe to do some "powerflocking". Also there is no need to "weed out" younger jumpers too early, just need to be sure they will fly safe and try their best to fly 110%. After first try(s), cut the people who cannot hold their slots/keep up with the rythm. But still organize "lower performance" jumps for them to get them better and better, and have them someday join the "fastflock" again. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

Very true. A few jumps with the Finns is all thats is needed to see this in action. fuck the Finns

we had a Jack Russell attacking our Rhodesian Ridgeback... The Ridgeback was just trying to keep the JackRussel under control (by keeping it's head in the mouth, pegged to the ground). JR finished with a bleeding ear. The owner of the JR was very apologectic (if such word exists), because she knew her dog was all about trying to get in trouble with big dogs scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

yep, my part is being behind the screen with saliva dripping out of my mouth and forwarding the link here and there. I am sooo 2670 tunnel hours and 16'000 jumps behind that level of flying.... but I do know a couple of them personnally which makes me special when I mention it to my whuffo friends scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

JUMP RUN 1979 - Canada / Florida film
piisfish replied to TREEZ's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
thanks a lot for that film. for me the scary part is the premature deployments, seems that was a "normal" malfunction at the time and the "lower than Sangi" hookturns scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
2nd link not good... waw the corscrew one, were you trying your breakdance moves ? you should change your name from KrisFlyZ to OZONE scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

IMO it is the problem of "levelling for the slowest". As I like most, is when the "weakest" is already very good/fast. Full speed flocks are great

If only you could use your drivers license to jump .... Americans would be happy, they could be jumping at age 16 (or less) like in many european countries Plus at 25 jumps in many european countries you would still be a student. Her jumps will certainly be recognized, but my bet is she will have to "join" the german system in a way or another, and not start from the beginning. Germanlady, keep us updated, other foreign newbies can learn a lot from this post. Welcome to our world and happy landings scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

does anybody know Justinas Kubilinskas //DZ Hinton UK
piisfish replied to piisfish's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
He is apparently a Lithuanian jumper jumping in the UK (Hinton) He apparently does exist and is legit, posted a classified for a reserve, but the email of the classified is apparently wrong/not valid anymore. I am trying to get in touch with him to purchase his reserve. Can people who know him inform him to get in touch with me ? scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -

I made a bet with a friend on Facebook that there could be an intelligent technical discussion in this forum. He bet there could not be. I lose. I was "wrong" to think this forum could achieve something outside of pitching product, bitching and brandwars. no, you were right, but it is not in this thread. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
