  1. I've had exactly the same problem, do they want my money or not? I thought the US was supposed to be a cutomer service led nation. Needless to say I will never bother to attempt to contact them again.
  2. Nice pic of the girls sharing lunch
  3. *PSST* Tony... that is the Twin Otter
  4. I did wonder if there was some sort of effect like this. Cheers
  5. We had a lad join our school who come from Kenya. He used to race Emus or whatever those gangly freaky large bird things are EDIT: Quick google check... I think it was probably Ostrich racing.
  6. ...3.....2.....1.... CLEAR - *BANG* - BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP Needed to revive this thread I'm interested in the Gath helmets with retractable visors. How have other people got on with them? I see the Babylon freefly team use them alot in all sorts of orientations. Are people wearing normal goggles underneath these for head up flying or is there some weird effect on the air meaning it doesn't get a rush of air in behind the visor? EDIT: Pic attached. Pinched off Babylon website
  7. If thats 16th-17th June, sadly I won't be. Whats going on there?
  8. You are right, I believe St John Ambulance do play a role but in motor racing they also have doctors who volunteer their time for free purely for their love of the sport. I think according to the MSA there must be 2 doctors on standby at all events plus some other medical support. Something like that.

But if he just mysteriously vanished as opposed to being found mutilated who would know?
  10. We were havign too much fun!! I did look down at break off and pulled at 4k but it was ridiculous. Was just sinking in. FIrst load of the day though. We were just human widis really Anyway, landing off is fun if you got safe outs. Gives you an extra adventure part to the jump
  11. YES I saw three CReW dogs this week. Their rigs scare the shit out of me. People were taking the piss out of them for their gear and stuff but after they exited I think everyone on the plane just looked at each other and silently agreed "fuck that for a laugh. Thats crazy"
  12. I clearly missed the original post before it was deleted. Just be careful whos manipulative propoganda war your believing. The main reason I don't watch the news is someone always has an agenda. Good friend of mine was a journalist and the cliche saying of "don't let the truth get in the way of a good story" is actually true. Heres a great website dedicated to reporting news from the middle east: www.honestreporting.com Read some of the stories which explain how past stories you may recall from the news have been manipulated with no truth behind the real circumstances. Shocking. Paticularly this one http://www.honestreporting.com/articles/45884734/reports/The_Photo_that_Started_it_All.asp
  13. It was sweet time for me too. 4 way trash dives were great fun. I can now do the splits pretty effectively after you guys nearly pulled my legs off After you guys left I busted out loads of jumps on my back and can now hold a stable on heading sit for the duration of a dive. Probably backsliding like a bitch but I don't know yet as only did solos. What a great developmental trip. Also had one extra dive of note. Linked flat exit, released, mate went into a sit and was just carving around me. Was sweet. What wasn't sweet was the uppers were howling and we had to hitch hike twice to get back to the dropzone. 15 min drive so must have been a fair way off
  14. I think an ambulance/doctor on standby is a good idea. In motor racing they have to have a number of doctors/paramedics on site just in case, else there is no racing allowed. I'm sure they volunteer their time as well so funding wouldn't come into it.
  15. Hey you must be considered local, getting involved in DZ politics! Well done! Cockend
  16. Watching tunnel rats flying over each other is pretty impressive. They don't seem to move an inch when flying in dead air.

    GPS battle

Yeah its a brilliant tool. Our personal radios are linked into it so our positions and vehicle positions are monitored which is great if we need assistance but cant talk, The downside is you can't ignore calls as they know where the nearest callsign is from their mapping system

I've used it on a mapping system called GIS. Very impressive bit of kit, especially when trying to pin point people with mobile phones
  20. I love the dialogue in Football Factory See what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWdkf2LCG6Q
  21. Had an eye opener recently into just how quickly life can be snatched away from someone right in front of me and I must admit its made me reevaluate things. I'm sure it'll pass. I have periods where I don't jump for a few weeks and my level of enthusiasm drops. Then when I'm back in the air its amazing and I want to jump every available second. Its natural. Like you I wan't to do quite a few things but I think I'm learning to not push my luck so much. My plan to get a sportsbike this summer has been shelved for a while. Thinking of diverting my attention to something a bit more relaxing like scuba. Least when the weathers not suitable for jumping I got another alternative.
  22. You WILL NOT look cool being flown in as a tandem passenger. Well.... maybe whuffos would like it actually. I'd liken it to arriving in a motorcycle side car I've noticed this prom bullshit is getting more common over here. Never had them in my day! Talk about putting more social pressure on kids in their most sensitive years. Enjoy your day. At least you know you won't hurt yourself, faint or butcher your clothes before the proms even got into full swing. That definately isn't cool. Besides, on that horrible club kit with uncomfortable leg straps do you seriously want bruised/sore crotch on prom night?
  23. It probably works out the same running costs when you consider the fuel consumption of the piss poor 3.5l V8 to pull the 3 tonne monstrosities down the highway
  24. Costs me £55 ($109.2) to fill up my car with unleaded. Its a 55 litre tank so thats about right... 55 litres = 14.53 gallons Thats $7.51 per gallon.. Quit ya bitchin! EDIT: Plus its not gas, its quite clearly a liquid. Never understood that language blip
