Ed and Makeithappen, I understand what your saying. My intentions are not to make the other jumpers feel any less. The very fact that they try this sport is praise in itself. I only wanted to devise a genuine way of commending students. Darcy thank you for understanding my point. Every student that I have talked to about this have seen it from your point of view as well. Now I ask you all how can we devise this thread to commend the students in the most positive way possible without the feeling of being less of an achiever? I ask you this simply because I would like to see it develop into an asset to the community on both sides. zulu

This is for instructors to recognize students they feel are the students of the week or weekend. This thread serves to, 1. Acknowledge the student on their performance in an open forum and help intergrate them into the skydiving community 2. A way for instructors to explain their techniques on teaching a particular subject. Out of 4 students I had last weekend 5 June, my student was Clark O'Neil from The Skydiving Place, NC. We performed 2 dives teaching him tracking, barrel rolls, and front docking. Clark performed commendably on every dive and we always had enough airtime to do what ever he wished to do. Clarks strongest technique is the ability to become stable very fast once he exited the aircraft. Good Job Clark One of the techniques that I have used in teaching is the art of simplicity. I only give the students 2 task to perform, and we plan for 2 more if there is time. We dirt dive it, and then have the student explain to me the whole dive to include our emergencey procedures should we have to use them. Who are your students of the Week or Weekend?

Beautiful Ladies, and Gentlemen, Ive notice on cable we have every channel specializing in something EXCEPT Skydiving!!! My questions to my skydiving family, If a broadcasting network would be willing to start a channel for all aspects of skydiving would you be willing to pledge money to get it started? This is a very serious question

My name came from my CO from 2/75. He used to say I was very aggressive in training, he gave me the nickname of one of his favorite warriors. Shaka Zulu. But I just go by Zulu. The funny thing is that no matter where I go if someone ask for zulu there is no mistaking who they are looking for.

Bro, You have got to stay in it for the long haul. Believe me it will pay off. This is comming from a guy who started college in 89 from Cal to the Phillipines (PU) and felt like you did. Motivation comes from within, factors such as music, motivational speakers, women, ect, they are all external factors and will not be there when its just you and the task at hand. You have to think in terms of do I WANT TO SUCCEED or do I WISH I WAS SUCCESSFUL. You have an opportunity broaden your mind, to enhance your chances of success down the road. Motivation is that little voice inside that tells you, just a little longer, or you can do better. Believe in yourself. The strength you need to continue towards that goal is there, what your feeling now is nothing more than an obstacle, find a way to move around it or run it the hell over but dont let it stop you from getting to the finish line. Small story: I wanted to earn my 100 mile t-shirt. I was in the middle east training in 120 degree heat 5 days a week running in the desert 3-8 miles and on 1 day I ran 12 miles. You know what my motivatation was? My motivation was not giving up on my goal. No matter how miserable it was and it fucking sucked big time where I was. I never gave up. When I earned that 100 mile t-shirt it was a joyous moment for me because I was never a fan of running and I have grown mentaly stronger from that. Now Im up to swimming 30 miles a week, running 15 miles a week. Where does this motivation come from, MYSELF!!! We all get burned out sometimes, and at times it is good to take a break from it all, but I will tell you that if you stick with it, it will only make you stronger. Never quit, because quiting gets easier and easier. The question now my young jedi, are you going to let this obstacle stop you from getting to the finish line?

I find that money in my case has never been a motivator to what I do. We are in this business because we enjoy what we do. Although money is a neccessity, for obvious reasons, it seems to possess a more negative flaw than a positive one. I have seen money destroy friendships, marriages, and hinder people from making the right decisions. What I have learned is that if you love what you do, and you have a level of satisfaction in it, then money loses its level of control of our personal satisfaction. Just my 2 Euros worth. Wait a minute the market has changed 3 Euros worth yipeee!!!

Okay, Since I consider myself a "Bootayologist" allow me to share some from my collection of studies. Notice the angle of the cheek and how it presents itself for a spanking. The texture ripe enough for a succulent bite just enough to tickle. And a taste that is sweet like honey. Good Lawd!! Enjoy

HELL.....YEAH!!!!! Im terrified of heights and hate to fly!!!! Believe it or not, I got into this sport to learn to control my fear of heights. I dont have it so bad now simply because when Im in the aircraft my students are my priority, and my fear takes the back seat. I concentrate on their saftey and focus on keeping them focus on the task at hand and to have fun. I pay no attention to the "Jedi mind fuck" that goes on in my head because again its my students that I focus on. I remember years ago my fear of heights and flying almost ended my career. And thats when I remembered my old man saying you have to confront your fears head on. So I took up skydiving. Susie Hanks, and Jose Malave can attest to this. They remember me very well. Fear is normal without it we loose the sense of caution. So you see its perfectly normal, control your fears, and never let it control you. zulu

If I had time and money, I would invest, to start a foundation for disable veterans. Pay for my neices and nephews colleges. Own my own DZ with 2 king air and 2 otters. Own my own state of the art wind tunnel. and I would DEFINATELY PAY the Pink Mafia to jump at my DZ. (waking up from a dream that is to good to be true) Pursue a masters in Anthropology
