  1. Hell if I know. I rarely skydive and only BASE jumps are from a 1500' exit. About 30 of the BASE jumps are on a Prodigy with around 1500ft horizontal and 2 on a V2. I was getting the same horizontal with the V2 but they were my 2nd and 3rd jumps on the suit, so I had no idea how to fly it properly. I plan on skydiving more this season to work on my L/D but numbers are boring. A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ
  2. Try being 6' (1.82m) and 130lbs (60kg). My flocking position is a cannonball. A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ
  3. Not sure about the Troll specifically, but it's fairly easy to slow down the openings on a vtec Fox or Blackjack with large mesh at terminal. A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ
  4. Bacon was an option. And it was 1.7 miles from the house to the pancake place. So we walked 3.4 miles in sub freezing weather for pancakes at 8am after being awake for 48+ hours because we were hungry and still awake. And I don't know if I want to meet hookitt or not. There's something odd about someone I've never met posting pictures of me on a forum A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ
  5. I love the internet. Love base more though. BTW, you forgot to mention destroying my PC on one of your first PCAs Yeah, I know it wasn't your fault... A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ
  6. Front page has a cool little clip on Dave Barlia doing some mountain swooping. It's under "Epic Conditions" about halfway down. www.weather.com direct link, may not work: http://epic.weather.com/epicPlayer.html?clip=5292&collection=epic1&nav=141&from=epic&cm_ven=epic&cm_ite=home_maincontent A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ
  7. I was getting around 1500ft horizontal from a 1500ft exit point (1500ft total, from exit to landing). This is with dead winds all the way up. Usually pitched in full flight around 300ft, so assuming 300ft to start flying properly that's 1500/900 = 1.6 Cue people saying that it isn't valid for some reason or another
  8. I jump a F111 7cell loaded at 0.6 freepacked with clamps (reserve type packjob so it will fit in the container) with a large hole mesh slider with a packjob that has me going from pitch to fully open in under 200 feet. And it's not very hard for someone like me to maintain a 45mph fallrate in a wingsuit either
  9. Around 25 seconds of enjoyable freefall, assuming I follow BSRs. But I also hook a 270 riser turn around 200 feet, not 600+ Different strokes for different folks. A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ
  10. People often talk about things they don't know much about. As long as you treat a F111 canopy like you're supposed to, it should be fine. Listen to Scott
  11. I absolutely love my Fox (vtec, nothing else) for crappy landing areas and low (
  12. I talked to Todd about the full ZP top recently. He's definitely the person to ask if you have any questions about it. A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ
  13. I'd recommend demoing both and putting at least 15-20 (sky)jumps on each. I have around 120-130 jumps each on a Vtec Fox and a ZP Blackjack and they're both completely different canopies which require me to use a different flying technique for each. They both have their unique strengths and weaknesses that are pretty easy to identify. I spoke to some people who had a Blackjack before I bought mine and it wasn't nearly as insightful as my own experience when I demoed a ZP Ace. 14. I've done over a couple dozen BASE jumps while taking Adderal. There isn't any noticeable difference between my reaction time or thought process than on my previous jumps. This also includes one jump where everything went to shit and required instant reaction to make it out in one piece. I reacted the same way I've reacted to similar past situations - immediate and without any conscious thought. A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ
  15. This thread makes me wonder if the older jumpers will automatically have a negative bias towards me because I'm still a teenager. My current experience is no, but I haven't met any real old school jumpers yet. I just looked it up and I was born more than 6 years after the first BASE fatality. I never fully realized how much longer BASE has been around than I have. A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ
  16. I made around 75 skydives on my base canopy in a few months before my first jump. It was the best decision I ever made. It showed me crew can be a ton of fun too. A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ
  17. There was more to it. I just don't feel like writing a 5 page essay describing my couple hour long discussion with my doctor
  18. Figured I'd throw my .02 in... I was recently diganosed with ADHD after a 3 hour test and some followup meetings with a psychologist. Here's some background on me which might change some people's minds on this. Currently I'm almost 20 and in college. Since grade school, I've tested in the top 0.1% (top 1 in 1000) of students in the nation on every single standardized test given, bar 1 where I was in the top 2% - 2 in grade school, 1 in middle, a couple in high school. On my ACT and SAT, I got the 2nd highest ACT score and highest SAT score in my high school, a competitive private school where consistently 99% of grads go on to college, once again being in the top 0.1% in the nation. I'm currently in my second year of college studying Mechanical Engineering and I'm classified as a Junior. Next semester (first semester of my 3rd year) I'll be considered a Senior. I'm currently being paid by my school to attend college, as in I've gotten a full ride plus additional scholarships which is my play money. Since I'm a very responsible person, I've blown all the extra money I get on BASE gear/trips Basically I'm considered fairly intelligent by academic standards. It was completely by chance I was tested for this. I went to a medical doctor because I banged up my ankle on a BASE jump. After hearing that I BASE jump and do a couple other high risk sports, he thought I might have a "natural amphetamine addiction" as he put it. That's why I went to the psychologist. It turns out my parents always thought I had ADD, and looking back it makes total sense. They never did anything because I always had extremely high grades and I am considered successful by most classifications. After taking Adderal XL for a while, the difference is incredible. I'm much much more productive and spend less time on schoolwork and more time on my fun side projects (rope swing designs, powered ultralight design/construction). I swear this little pill is the greatest thing in the world to me. What Lawrocket said seems dead on. This medication won't make you successful, but it will unlock your true potential. Quite honestly I'm extremely excited to see how far I can go now. So to everybody who thinks kids of who do extremely well in school don't have ADD, or that having ADD will automatically make you a bad student/employee, I'd have to strongly disagree

    Toxic PC's

I don't have a camera with me, so no pic for now. It is very noticeable to me when using the Toxic. On 1-2 sec handheld and stowed delays with a 42, I can definitely tell the difference from time of pitch to time of linestretch. The effect seems greater when going stowed on short delays. I'll try and get some action shots of it later today. A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ

    48"+ PCs

If anyone has experience using larger than 48" PCs for low freefalls, ie throw and go's, please PM me. I know they were used back in the older days of BASE, but I've never seen one in my short history, nor do I know of anyone who has used one. Also, if you know of anyone that has any experience with them, please either ask them to contact me or give me an email for me to contact them. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ
  21. That's a pretty nice combo of Parkour (Free Running) and Tricking. It takes either a lot of time in a gymnastics gym or somebody who's really tough to learn it outside. A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ
  22. Around 120 on a 220 with CUS/5 control lines. DOM was July of last year so I guess that it's new style. Also have 120 on a Fox 245 vented w/covers. Both canopies have their distinct advantages over the other in specific situations. A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ

    Heroes

This season is supposed to be one storyline, so there should be a resolution with the bomb in New York and everything. The next season is supposed to be something different. A waddling elephant seal is the cutest thing in the entire world. -TJ
