In most cases, you must choose 2 of these 3. WTF?? Really?? Love and respect you shouldn't have to do without... Intelligence is relative, so if you're "dumb" all you need to do to fulfil this third criteria is find someone who matches your (low) level! (I mean "you" in the generic sense, of course ) Remember: there's a 50% chance that you're below average in intelligence... No, 50% chance you're below the median! Also incorrect - this would only be true if there were 0 people AT the median. The best way to think about it is that "average intelligence" is best considered as a range that most people fall in. Meaning that chances are you are of average intelligence. I wholeheartedly disagree... I think some extremists may have given feminism a bad rep, but extremists are by very definition NOT representative of the norm/majority. That and also you're projecting meaning into words and behaviors that don't have that meaning. Being straightforward and saying what you mean doesn't make one simple or dumb. Or being indirect and unable to say what you mean doesn't make one intelligent. It has more to do with being able to stand behind what you say and taking responsibility over what you're saying. Women being indirect and unclear with what they're saying leave the responsibility to the listener over what they've said and should something they've said have some negative consequences weasel they're way out of what they've said. Men being direct with what they're saying leave no room for interpretation which forces them to stand behind what they've said. Wow. And there I was trying to inject a bit of humour... Dude, it really sounds like you have a beef against women... You keep writing those kinds of negative generalisations all the time. And frankly I find it ironic that you also keep bringing up "feminism" as though it were the problem... Feminism is at its roots a movement to bring about equality between the genders; to highlight the fact that sexism exists and it shouldn't. If you're the kind of person who thinks one gender is better than the other, you are part of the problem - not those who seek a more balanced view. Lemme get this straight... You're arguing that men are simple and women are complicated? Do you not see the flaw in that argument? Oops, how silly of me... Let me spell it out for you: Man = simple = dumb Woman = complicated = intelligent Or am I reading between the lines?!! Well, then I guess the only thing I think we disagree on is how literally we are to take the argument. Literally speaking, that is all he is saying, yes. However, I believe (it is only an opinion) that it goes deeper. So yes. Blame vs. taunt. We can't be sure of the dude's intent, and we can read further into it or not. I think even in it's most simplistic form, it's a very fine (and dangerous) line... It's not the most well-written article, but has a lot of interesting tidbits. I too was intrigued by the idea that many school teachers continue treating each-other much like school children do... But thinking on it, they never left high-school, so I guess it's not all that surprising!! Also interesting to think that individuality and non-conformity would make you an outsider in school, but more likely to succeed in life... And that the opposite was also true - conformity which leads to popularity in high-school is not a good trait to have as an adult. Still... I'm suspicious the article was written by a former high-school geek, so not sure we can trust it entirely!! AH-HA! I finally agree with MOST of what you wrote. The main difference is that there very much is an undertone of "be careful - if you only knew"... In my mind, the worst that could happen isn't just SEX - that's obvious. I think it's continuously hinted that women are provoking men. And call it feminist bullshit all you want - it is *exactly* the same kind of rhetoric that has been used for AGES to justify all kinds of crap and put the blame on women. I'm not keen to drag this into SC, so I will refrain from commenting on how religion treats women, forever blaming her for all kinds of sins... OBVIOUSLY I don't know what it's like to be a man... And OBVIOUSLY you don't understand what it's like to be a woman, either. This kind of bullshit blame-the-women annoys me. If a person chooses to spend their life fighting their own nature and convincing themselves that experiencing physical pleasure is sinful, well I dont get it, but more power to them. If they go further and start to require others to make their silly journey less difficult, well, too bad for them. Choosing a difficult path is just fine until you start blaming others for the fact that its difficult. YES! THANK YOU! Well, I forced myself to listen to the whole stupid argument (which I doubt Airvoitus did)... The letter from the student "struggling" to "keep his faith" is merely to illustrate the narrator's point that women should cover up so that men can keep their urges under control. It makes the woman "responsible" for "provoking" men. It's bollocks. Like I said: men are responsible for keeping it in their pants. Women who dress trashy should expect to be looked at. And anything beyond that (aggression, violence, etc. is NOT her fault). Like the SLUTWALK article in another thread - it focuses on how the victim should dress in order to "not get raped" instead of focusing on the important bit: "do not rape." In this case, rape is not mentioned, but that is very much implied.. "Help us men keep our urges under control" - bollocks, bollocks, bollocks. "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

Did you listen to the video??? The narrator went on and on and on and on about how men have (aggressive) impulses and urges and how WOMEN SHOULD DRESS APPROPRIATELY to deal with this problem. That tells me he blames women for "taunting" men. And completely makes the man blameless because he is dealing with "urges". It pretty blatantly *suggests* the woman is at fault for whatever happens to her as a result of *her* behaviour. I don't think I missed the point at all. I think the point is stupid. Holy crap, what a load of bollocks... Men: keep it in your pants unless otherwise instructed. Women: expect that men will eye you up if you let it all hang out. For everyone who uses clothing (or lack thereof) as an excuse for violence, aggression, abuse (verbal or otherwise): get some fucking help. Could it simply be a case of: Coffee + Lack Of Sleep + Coffee = RESTLESS ?? Maybe?? I think it's a good theory... Put differently, you could also say: Coffee + Coffee + RESTLESS = Lack Of Sleep or RESTLESS + Lack Of Sleep = 2coffee Et cetera, et cetera. In every variant, coffee seems a significant contributing factor... A lot of good comments so far... What I would add (as John already alluded to), is that there is a difference between being a "nice guy" and being a "doormat." A lot of women go gaga over jerks - a lot of "nice guys" have the EXACT same problem... Face up to it: the problem isn't what you're doing, it's WHO YOU ARE DOING IT FOR. Do the exact same thing for someone who is nice and who loves you, and they will think you are the best thing since sliced bread! I had problems with a TonySuit but because he was testing out a new material, which didn't "behave" the way other stuff did when you sew it (ie: there was a lot of extra material when I put it on). I went back to show him (I was in ZHills), and they picked out the threads and tried a bunch of times to fix it and finally ended up using almost entirely new materials (ie: re-building another new suit)... It was a bit of an experiment, which explains all the faffing around, but my point is he wouldn't let me leave until it was perfect - even when I thought it was "fine". I've bought from them time and again for this reason... They're honest and they're good and they care about their customers. Don't kid yourself - fixing a problem on an already-built suit takes more time than making it from scratch... Plus they might be super busy this time of year... Be nice to them - they will sort you out. Sorry to hear about the wait, but I'm sure it will be worth it

Meh... Therapists get official degrees/phd's to "sort people's lives"... Not hard to see why there would be a market for people wanting to do this with a more "hands-on" (if not accredited) approach. Who cares if it sounds lame and/or unnecessary (and it does!)... If it works, great! I don't want to push this into SC, but some people ask "God" for help - again, if it works for them, great

Well that kinda works but sooner or later they sober up and say "your not tall and handsome your short and ugly'' I guess thats ok for a short term thing.... Not if your supply doesn't run out!
