We don't have an office in North America, so you can work from your toilet if you like! Have a look at the job specs and go ahead and apply if you think you might be right for the job

Buying a used helicopter is just a little more complicated than buying a used car/motorcycle/lawnmower... So yeah... Lots of buyers don't feel comfortable buying used directly from the seller for a whole host of reasons (regulations vary from country to country; they may not know how to interpret the serviceability of the aircraft; they may not know any mechanics for upgrades/inspections/repairs; they may want a search&rescue heli but don't know where to buy hoist etc to modify what used to be a VIP heli... Et cetera, et cetera). You don't just go to craigslist!!! Although I imagine you *might* occasionally find one there!! I would hope the new ones are a wee bit better at dealing with higher altitudes when it is "warm"... The Alouette they brought to Lost Prairie a few years ago had the lift capacity of a gnat. You're the worst stalker ever..... I have been with Avinco since 2011!!! 37 Million cheating spouses are panicking right about now...
Nataly replied to BillyVance's topic in The Bonfire
Haha! I'm on dating sites and I agree that I am WAY more picky online. And that's simply because a) it's easier to reject a picture and b) without meeting the person I base 90% of my decision on looks whereas in person a man has several opportunities to catch my attention with what he says/does irrespective of his appearance and c) I am more worried about the guy in the picture being a serial killer!!!!! But it gets me thinking... I bet the guys I *am* picking must sleep around A LOT... Cause if he is hot enough that I overcame my fear of serial killers(!), he must have practically EVERY OTHER GIRL on the site picking him as well!!! Swedish Woman Told She's Too Big For The Modeling Industry
Nataly replied to ryoder's topic in The Bonfire
Models get told they are ugly/fat/not-tall-enough/etc all the time. Ironically, they are more criticized for their looks than any one else in the world - it's unfortunately part of the industry. Some of the biggest top models have been rejected again and again and again... Until one designer "discovers" them and suddenly they are super-stars (Cindy Crawford comes to mind)! It's kinda sad and ironic... Because millions of girls envy models and yet designers and agents will pick apart and criticize every inch of her body no matter how gorgeous or how close to perfection she is. So yeah... Even the girls that are the so-called ideal aren't "good enough." It's funny... I was initially against having a cat because I also believed they couldn't give a shit. But in my experience, NOTHING could be further from the truth. Thought it might be this one - typed cat sign language in youtube and that was what came up. Super cute

Your link doesn't work for me, but I have heard lf people teaching deaf cats a few basic signs... My work colleague has a deaf kitten and she is doing some signs and she says her cat understands. I'm not so surprised - all of my cats recognise their names and come when I call them. One of my cats uses the toilet when I change his cat litter to a brand he doesn't like... The other day my cat came over to tell me something by tapping my knee repeatedly - he always does this when he wants something I am eating so I figured it was food-related and sure enough, it was meal-time but his food dispenser was empty. One of my cats figured out how to open doors and taught the other cats how to do it. The same one figured out how to open the kitchen cabinet where I used to store their food... They keep me on my toes!!! "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

I hear what you are saying... And since I sent the info immediately, I can't claim that it was a well thought-through action on my part... I don't typically get involved in other people's business, however there are some exceptions where I personally hope I would not just stand by and do nothing... Child abuse, rape, violence, et cetera. Because if we shut our eyes to the suffering of others, what kind of world do we live in??? And personally, although I appreciate that not everyone feels the same, if I had to do it over again, I would actually do the same thing. Maybe not in every case, but in this particular case, yes. I don't buy it either but I shared what I knew and not my thoughts on the matter. Nobody asked/forced me to share what I saw but it is a factual thing, whereas my opinion is highly subjective. I will only give it to her if she asks. "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

yeah right. Match.com/ eharmony- " dating app " tinder. "Hookup app" This is true. For those who have never heard of Tinder "dating app" is sufficient explanation... For those who know about Tinder, any further explanation is not necessary "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

Did he offer to show her if there is a Tinder app on his phone? I'm just a little skeptical of the "friend" explanation. Isn't that the oldest excuse in the book? Do you buy it? I'm not suggesting you delve into it any farther. Just things that make me go hmmmm.... She went into some detail about how it all supposedly happened and to be honest, the whole thing sounds pretty far-fetched to me. To be fair, my only basis for this opinion is instinct, because I really can't say that I know the guy... She *did* want to see his profile and asked me about how Tinder works, et cetera. I gave her the information, but she didn't ask for my opinion so I did not give it to her. If she does ask for my opinion, I will tell her the truth: I don't know the guy, but it does seem fishy. Well, update on the situation since she brought it up first thing this morning. She got the message from me when he was right next to her and he claims it's a friend of his did it. She thanked me for the info and said had the situations been reversed she also would have told me without hesitation.

The irony is that I regularly send this colleague pictures of the weirdos I find on Tinder... Grown men wearing diapers, profile pics of Santa with guns, guys with feathers sticking out of their arse... I mean, there are some pretty colourful characters on there!!! And I was sending her pics of the "serial killer of the week" and we were giggling about it and that very moment is when Tinder suggested her bf as a match... So yep... I didn't think, I sent his pic with "???????????" Had I seen his pic any other time, I wouldn't have just sent it like that but it's done and can't be undone. At this point, I am merely curious as to whether people in her shoes would *want* to know or not. I'm not trying to reassure myself that I did the right thing because that would be pointless. And in any case, I *could* have reacted better, so it's a moot point. So thanks to the people who are giving their opinions and answering the spirit of the question and don't feel the need to unnecessarily add thinly veiled insults just to be asshats

My mom said "you don't know what is going on with anyone else's relationship - maybe they have an agreement..." And my view is that if that is the case, I didn't tell her anything she didn't already know. If it embarasses her that I found him, then she can tell her partner to be more discreet and thus prevent further/future embarassement. If some friend played a bad joke on the guy, that can also easily be explained and if BOTH of them weren't aware I did both of them a favour. And if he is cheating (or intending to cheat), then I personally feel like doing nothing is a little bit like helping him in his deceit. Upon further reflexion, I feel like she is mature enough to realise that it was not me (the messenger) who did anything to hurt her but the asshat who is cheating on her (if indeed that is what is going on). Anyway, I gave her the info and I am leaving it at that. It's not my place to judge or give her unsolicited advice... If she doesn't bring up the topic herself we shall never speak of it again. Yeah. That probably would have been better... Although my only way of contacting him would have been via Tinder... Awkward... "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

Long story short, yesterday I was swiping away on Tinder (dating app) and came across a work colleague's boyfriend's picture. Without thinking, I took a screenshot and sent it to her with: "???????????" She answered: "Wtf?" "Um... My thoughts exactly" was all I could say. For a lot of reasons I won't get into, I suspect this is NOT some prank done by one of his friends... Anyhoo, am now feeling very very awkward about it and wonder if I should not have said anything. I spent 7 years in the military and when I left they hadn't even taken the time to sign/prepare my little certificate thingy that showed x years of service... No goodbye lunch or party - nothing. I was young so it was hurtful but I learned a valuable lesson: it's a job. No matter how much of yourself you put into it, they don't "owe" you anything more than your salary. On the completely flip side, many years later, I took on a role as a consultant for a couple of months and ended up getting an extension and then being offered a permanant position. I said no and stuck with my plan to move to France and my colleagues threw me a huge party, bought me gifts, a card and all I kept thinking was that some schmuck had retired without all this fuss only the previous week... So ya know... Being popular doesn't mean you'll get a 20-year career at a place, but you might get some cake and a fun night out when you leave... Having a 20-year career doesn't mean you'll get cake and a party when you leave, but all the shit you bought for the past 20 years you got because of that company... Just sayin'...
