  1. Well, sometimes spending time with her contributes to a bad case of ground poinsoning, but we all know the cure for that. One good thing is that this levaquin crap is also good for anthrax -- good because the nasty stuff was found in my building today. I think I'll stay away from our post office.
  2. 4:0:0 No jumping due to an anti-biotic that makes the user's tendons fragile. No joke -- the literature states that people's achilles tendons sometimes spontaneously rupture on this stuff. Who approved this junk (levaquin)? At the FDA: "Spontaneous tendon ruptures? Bah! Good enough -- stamp it 'Approved'!". Anyways, I figured that I didn't want to be hobbled by a routine landing. The really bad thing is that I can't drink, either. I actually found myself daydreaming about beer over the weekend.
  3. I would have to say that it is cheating, unless your boyfriend says that it's okay. He may not mind, if you agree to provide pics, video or at least graphic details. Better yet, why don't you suggest a threesome? He couldn't say not to that! [Beavis voice] Boi-oi-oi-oingggggggggg![/Beavis voice] "Ahhhhhhh!! Natural Light!! Get it off me!!" - Barney, The Simpsons
  4. I'm bored. Work sucks. Everyone please help amuse me.
  5. Sesames Street's Bert has been spotted on posters being used by pro Bin Laden protesters. Really. See the story here. I always had my doubts about that cranky critter. I hope Ernie isn't involved in all this. "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  6. I have a cow costume that can be jumped in. Not only that, but I typically get A LOT of mileage out of the flesh-colored rubber udders located in the costumes's crotch region -- especially when drunk chicks are present. Come to think of it, drinking ladies make everything better! "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  7. Plus, they don't wiggle right. "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  8. ... And after all this time, the last time I saw boobies, I had the same look and thought the same thing. Viva boobies! "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  9. West Point's my home DZ. I've heard us referred to as "The RW People", and it seems pretty much true. If you're interested in getting in some RW work, the experienced folks there are more than happy to include anyone who's willing, and organizer Carol Clay ("The Queen") will find a spot appropriate for anyone. Not to say that freeflyers aren't welcome, however, but RW is the focus -- along with beer drinking. "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  10. Women have orgasms?? "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  11. My vote is against long sleeves. Not because of the increased cost, but because I live in the Humidity Belt, where it's too hot for long sleeves 9 months out of the year. I love the the "corporate productivity" quote. "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  12. Great idea. Not only will it be just cool to have a DZ.com shirt, but it will help DZ.com'ers who haven't met before to spot each other at boogies. [I'm still drunk from last night. Ugh!] "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  13. Cartoon And, yes, I do vote Libertarian. "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  14. When attempting to view info on "Skydive the Point", West Point, VA USA (ID 270?) in the Dropzones section, the page comes up blank. (the HTML source comes up virtually blank also). I recall that SpeedRacer wrote that he encountered an error while attempting to submit a review. Related? "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  15. I had just arrived for work on the north side of the Pentagon. I was listening to NPR news when I heard that first one, then two planes had collided w/ the WTR towers. Then, I heard a the sound of a jet engine, and the building shuddered. I assumed that a military aircraft had buzzed the building, until a co-worker pointed out the cloud of black smoke billowing from the building's west side (our windows face inward from the outer ring). After having heard about the events in NY, we knew that we, too, were under attack. I grabbed my keys and sunglasses and high-tailed it out of there. 16. I was in the Pentagon when the plane crash occurred ( I work there). I felt the building shudder, and I assumed that a large military aircraft had passed over (not unusual). It was then that someone pointed out the huge plume of black smoke coming from another part of the building. The evacuation was orderly. Reports are that some people are still trapped inside. Let's keep them in our thoughts. "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  17. There's a bill before the US House of Reps to cut the beer tax in half. Contact your representative and urge him/her to vote YES on HR 1305. Here is the story. (warning: there are some very, very bad puns) Fight the power! "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  18. Thanks a lot for the tip, Michele. The crappy weather web site I've been using 'til now doesn't include the moon rise/set time, only the phase. Good luck with your "A" and your fun DZ.com'er sunset jump! "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  19. While reading Michele's post in "A HopnPop, Trees, and Water", I wondered how she knew that the moon would be up when the dive discussed was to occur. So I looked around ... A moon rise calculator can be found here. Please note that the times calculated do not account for daylight savings time. Armed with this information, I think we should all pressure the powers that be at our respective DZs to organize night jumps this weekend. Full moon! I want make my first night jump, darn it! "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  20. A joke: Q: What has two legs and bleeds profusely? A: Half a cat.
  21. Cats don't have owners, they have support staff.
  22. Ahhh ha ha ha ha ha ha !!! Thanks for the haiku, Slappy. You've made my afternoon. Perhaps it's just the Beavis in me, but the word "poop" always makes me happy. BTW, my fellow jumpers and I refer to a dump taken in freefall as a Denver omelette. "Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life." -- Bertolt Brecht
  23. I'm lucky that I sit in a corner and my PC screen is hidden from everyone. Still, I'm surprised that the Pentagon firewall folks haven't blocked DZ.com yet. We're automatically blocked from AIM and any URLs containing "MP3", "sex" and many others. Should I be on here? Nope. Here I am, though. Fight the power!! pml A-38712
  24. 1. Tupper's Hop Pocket Ale (amazingly bitter; inappropriate for any beer style) 2. Jägermeister 3. Red Bull and Stoli (you can mix these 50/50 and it's still gooooood) pml A-38712
