The reason I was given for parapac on the inside of the leg straps and backpack is due to the reduced wear and tear on your jumpsuit i.e. its smoother and that its a "cooler" fabric than cordura meaning you don't get as hot wearing it. The one disadvantage might be some slipping in the legs pags but from what I've heard its either a non issue or something that a lil bungy between the leg straps will fix. I don't know. I remember seeing some full page ads for SOBE in parachutist and they seemed to do a pretty good job at hosting an event pretty much every other month. I think SOBE going under had more to do with money issues up north than those at the DZ itself. You should check out the infinity thread down the page, I think it pretty much covers all of your questions. Here's a list of what I ordered keep in mind im a 23 jump chump but I did alot of research prior to my order. Materials - I went with parapak because its supposed to wear less on your jumpsuit and is somewhat cooler- Pro. It may cause some slippage-con. Main Deployment- BOC, its how I learned and what I'm confortable with. Main pilot chute- kill line with hackey, no parasitic drag on your open chute-pro. Better make sure you "cock" it correctly to avoid pilot chut in tow malfunctions.- con Harness- Standard friction adapters with double wide leg pads for comfort. I don't think anyone uses B-12's anymore. Also the articulation its a great option for comfort and I got that as well. Risers - I went with mini risers due to my relatively low weight. 3 ring - I got stainless for everything on my rig.
