koune: Yeah, I guess it is... is there any way to move it? vdschoor: Heh, I agree, it is definately better than Bud... but then he actually *likes* Bud, so I suspect his opinion might be suspect. :)

Heh... topless tandem having to hitch a ride back to the DZ... I bet that would be embarassing! :)
-
Not only is it one of the most popular beers at my DZ, it seems that many other skydivers like it. Personally, I prefer my homebrew... :> By the way, a Dutch friend of mine assures me that Heineken is the Dutch equivalent to Budweiser... think about that next time you tip back a cold one! :P

So what's you're number? :P dB! A44670 PS: sorry, just got mine, so I still need to break it in :P
-
jeez. what have you done to get a jump ticket?
Decibel replied to TribalTalon's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Had a tandem student ask me that last weekend... not those exact words but something similar. My response was "Well, I call it an addiction". -
How much did you spend on skydiving last year?
Decibel replied to pccoder's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Actually, what you really need to do is start brewing beer! $15-25 for 5 gallons is hard to beat, not to mention it tastes *way* better than most of what's out there to buy. Heiniken? Blech! :P -
Medical Insurance through your Employer - Funny Story
Decibel replied to stoneycase's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
If you're single and own about $5-10k of stuff (time to buy more rigs!), there's not much you need to worry about for life insurance, since that's about what it will cost to put you in the ground. Of course if you have kids it's a very different story; you need to make sure they at least know how to pack so they can feed themselves if you go! ;P -
In addition, I wonder why there's no provision for re-certification of any kind, or even just evaluation by others. The only feedback about instruction that I've seen is from students (and then only in AFF ground school). I'd think it would be useful to have other instructors periodically play the role of student, just to see what other people's teaching styles are and to make suggestions. I also think it would be helpful for someone to ask students what they think about their instructors.

You could just pay for the other person's slot and ride the 182 alone. My DZ's 182 is a climbing rocket when it's just me and the pilot. (I wanted to jump BAD and nobody else would go. Some more $ and problem solved.) Heh, for the day that Skydive San Marcos was stuck with just the T-Bo we did one load with a sky-surfer on board; we told him if he wanted to jump with the board any more he'd have to buy 2 more tickets for the board to ride up.

Number of times you have read a waiver?
Decibel replied to DBCOOPER's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I wonder if Avogadro ever got to jump out of something... -
And that's the sad part of this debate; that DZOs have to spend money coming up with huge waivers and jumpers have to worry that they'll be SOL if they fall victim to a DZ that's truely neglegent (or worse).

I missed A-44444 so I guess A-44670 will have to do. :)

I got an email from the DZ at 3:30 saying they'll be jumping the caravan this weekend. Yes, the T Bo is a bit slow to altitude (not to mention that door is pretty small). Still, we managed to launch a practice speedstar out of it. Honestly the worst part was having to manifest two or three loads later with how fast they were filling up. But I've heard that's what it's like during the summer, so I guess it's good practice. :)

Hasn't that picture always been up there anyway? I guess I'd rather spend time throwing myself at the planet than looking at websites...

Long Road..But, Hello, this is A-44634!!!
Decibel replied to skygrl70's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Damn, I was hoping to get A-44444 :P -
And what would the rigger that packed your main owe you (assuming of course you didn't pack yourself)? :)

You've been having fun jumping, right? So you might have to do a few dives to show proficiency. Just have fun and don't worry about it. Relax, don't worry, have a home brew. Err, wait... wrong hobby.
