  1. Much easier than I thought. Thanks.
  2. yes. but computer don't know how to speak trig this is what i came up with after my trig lecture with mwgemini. rather elegant if i do say so mesef function relativeCoordsToHeading(x,y) { var radians = Math.atan2(x,y); var degrees = (eval(radians))*(180/Math.PI); if (x>0){degrees = 180 - degrees;} else {degrees = -degrees + 180;} return degrees; } Does it work in your application? There's something a bit funny about your if/else statement, since (180-degrees) is the same as (-degrees +180)
  3. How can I automatically set the font color or background color of a cell according to the value it contains? (Yes, I can do it do it manually). Like red for negative values and green for positive values. Thanks in advance.
  4. I have a British flag decal on one of my helmets, and on the back of my MG. And a US flag on the other side.
  5. Name names of the doubters at NOAA. Here's a NOAA National Medal of Science winner who provided the proof of the CFC-ozone link. I know of no rebuttals to her work. The chemistry is indisputable. www.chemheritage.org/EducationalServices/FACES/env/readings/solomon.htm Are you a scientist?
  6. I'm not familiar with aviation, but that seems like a lot of work to set up. The Timothy McVeigh method seems rather easier to carry off for a park or skyscraper, and a truck can carry a lot more bang than a light aircraft.
  7. It has been proven without a shadow of doubt that humans can cause major atmospheric changes. The "ozone hole" is 100% certainly due to human actions. The evidence is overwhelming, and the chemistry has been confirmed empirically and theoretically. There are no natural sources of CFCs. Having established our capability to damage the atmosphere it would be extreme stupidity to assume that other changes are not due to human activity, especially when the mechanism has been established. Of course, extreme stupidity is the hallmark of the Bush administration.
  8. By whom? It's changed a whole lot from some of the proposals.
  9. "Intensive" purposes? What are they? Record trade deficit, record budget deficit, dollar is dropping against other currencies. High paying manufacturing jobs being replaced by low paying service jobs. Personal bankruptcies at record levels. Nothing to worry about, economy is fine.
  10. The "sparse"ness of the particles (molecules) really has nothing to do with it. Temperature is the only relevant variable. a = sqrt(gamma*R*T) where a = speed of sound, gamma = ratio of specific heats (Cp/Cv), R = gas constant, T = temperature (absolute).
  11. The devaluation of the dollar has been going on for months. The trade gap continues to grow to record levels. Bush's administration is borrowing at record levels and spending like a drunken sailor. The new jobs are mostly in the service sector, not manufacturing, so your theory doesn't appear to be working.
  12. Hypocrite. If it was a site that ridiculed conservative Moslem garments for women, you'd be apoplectic with PC righteousness. . It looks like a legit site to me, not a parody. Too much effort went into it for a parody.
  13. Yup, I'm really looking forward to being able to buy 10 handguns a month instead of the one I'm allowed now. And it's so handy being allowed to get someone else to buy them for me so my name never has to show up.
  14. Well, Fort Dodge, IA, is the cultural hub of the midwest.
  15. I got 4,200 hits, most of which are me, a lot are my brother, and the rest are other relatives.
  16. He said "load". I agree, that is a load of crap. If she intentionally deceived him to get pregnant using sperm from her MOUTH, then I see no reason for this guy to pay child support. I guess it's another example of why you should be extremely careful about who you choose to have sex with... Exactly. She already made the claim in court that the sperm was hers (a "gift" from the donor) in order to get around the theft charge. So she then used her own sperm to get pregnant.
  17. Serious mountaineering, and Formula 1 grand prix racing, to name but two, have way more fatalities (proportionally) than does swooping. Ever look to see the fatality rate among climbers attempting Everest?
  18. I think that is a rather offensive way of characterizing the debate. Wanting some data before taking action is not a "me me me" response. How would you like it if the FDA took the approach to approving new drugs that no analysis or testing was necessary? "Common sense" has proven to be incorrect on countless occasions. The difference in that argument is that the FDA errs on the side of saftey. At least in most cases. Without some study, how do you know which side safety is on? The experts thought Thalidomide was safe and that HRT was good for women.
  19. One would think that after the Abner Louima and Amadou Diallo cases that the cops would be more careful.
  20. It only calculates the direct benefit. It omits the part about paying the couple of $Triilions needed to make the conversion. I suppose someone else (like the Iraqis) pays that for us.
  21. I thought the anti flag-burning amendment supporters made their case based on the flag's being the symbol of the US of A. And then there's the Eagle, and Uncle Sam. I hardly think the President symbolizes the country.
