well I dont know how much the water can distort them when they were litteraly a foot away. I could have reached one of the sharks dorsal fin. they were big and thick sharks. I have swam in Triathalons on the gulf side and have scene the makos which are alot smaller. but over there I also saw hammerheads too. they aren't all that small. but those I saw from several yards away. sucks to have to dodge sharks while keeping your swim time down. Michelle, I saw these mean bastards swim underneath my board. they didnt look too adolescent (then again I dont know how big is adolescent) but they were frickin huge...most of em alot longer than me. and bigger around for sure. scared the crap out of me. after being in FL for a year this was only the 2nd time I was at the beach. I like the skydiving down here so much more. well other than having to avoid all the gators that is, its so much better than chicago. Marc Because I fly, I envy no man on earth

I was at New Smyrna beach....I saw 4 bull sharks that were only inches from my board...and saw probably another 10+ with in 20 yards from me....thats when I decided to leave. I was there the day before they closed it down. last week some time. Marc Because I fly, I envy no man on earth
