Funny thing happened to me in the store the other day....I walked in to buy some groceries before my shift.... I had my flight suit on...all adorned with my various patches and yada yada yada.....well some dude comes up to me and my partner and says I would just like to thank you guys for doing what you do..... all I could think to say to the guy...is I have been doing this for 9 years.....WHY THE FUCK IS IT THAT OVER 300 EMERGENCY WORKERS HAVE TO DIE....for people to actualy give a shit about what we have been doing for most you these thankless bastards that I take care of on a regular basis.....rarely did I get a thank you before 9/11....now it is all the stinking time....funny when shit hits home how we reassess our values in who we think are heroes...... I kinda doubt this one....as anyone knows a firetruck has that BIG ladder on the top and a FIRE ENGINE has a hose bed..... but I have done this.....great fun.....ah govt. work... but the best place for me was in the back of a BK117 with my RN partner flying over the bay near auckland NZ.....or was it the Dr.s consulatation room outside the ER/Trauma center at Loyola Univerisity Medical Center... Dave, I cared for a guy that broke his neck from a saber smack....he said it opened in around 100-130 ft...how he determined this distance not sure...but definatley did break his C-2 through C-5....the man is still walking.....thanks of course to great medical care.... I think you might have gotten screwed there...My dash-M 218 has no name on it like I have seen on the regular ravens....you might wanna check on that...unless they put it down incorrectly...the way to really find out is to pop the reserve and take a look at the warning label that will have it all on there....when I bought mine on E-bay they guy was selling it as a regular raven...I was surprised when I got it and my rigger shows me it is a dash-m and according to Terry it has no oppenings on the thing.....all that for 300 bucks....did I luck out...and with a DOM of 7/99 too..... I hated my springloaded pilot chute on student status......Due to the fact that I am a big dude...I push alot of air out of the way and have one hell of a burble...well so I have been told...every single jump the pilot chute bounced around in my burble....I had to look over my shoulder every time for it to get some air and take off....that just sucks.....good thing I pulled WAY hight back then... Funny thing is Andrea....I have been at that particular DZ....I have only once had someone come up to me to ask to jump...and he was some german guy staying there for a month..not even a regular....and well you know what happened onthat jump.....I honestly think the only reason that happens to you is your boobies....or that your a hottie too. I am just some schmoe.....now when I go to Sebastian...there are a constant flow of people who want to jump...from guys with 6,000 skydives to guys with 50......and all of them refuse for me to pay for a skydive......all they want is a beer..... well Anne I must say I am just as pissed off about this "coach" thing as you are.....but I also agree with my fellow eastern philosapher......in that the two must be able to co-exist.... you are only semi right...there are people with chronic liver failure that also need to be dialized....and the simple fact that once your liver fails your kidneys take up some of the slack...and they fail soon after...that is why so many fkn drunks need both a new liver and a new kidney....
