They can’t all be used for Covid-19 cases though. They still need to be used for all the other things ICU beds are usually used for. You also need ventilators to go along with the beds - otherwise what’s the point?

Because the expert advice seems to say it’s not a particularly effective strategy, and it’s one that comes at a huge economic cost to a lot of people at a time when many businesses are already going to face a significant strain. “And again, they'll have to be quarantined regardless - so you're gonna spend your family vacation stuck in some hotel for 2 weeks, or travel 5000 miles just to Skype into your business meeting from wherever you're quarantined?” They only have to be because it’s said they have to be. They don’t HAVE to be. Currently, wildly fluctuating public statements from day to day, or even from different departments on the same day, and knee jerk policies that seem to be getting made up and enacted in a whim are not a very good way to tackle a problem like this. What is so hard to understand about that?

Are they? Why? Seriously, if you already have as high a rate of infection as anywhere else in the world then you don’t face any additional risk from people coming in from the outside. Especially since anyone obviously ill would hopefully be turned away at the port of departure you’d think that the people coming in would be more likely to catch Corona from you than you are from them.

At this point, blaming the media is lazy and stupid. It’s not the media who are recommending self isolation, banning mass gatherings, closing borders and quarantining entire countries.

And how do you appropriately screen them? There is no way to determine that people haven’t been in contact with Covid infection. Further, if appropriate screening does work for US citizens, why wouldn’t it work for non US citizens? Let’s see how possible it is for you to apply any critical thinking to a Trump policy

Posting messages to supporters on the open on the WWW is the opposite of a backchannel. It's as front channel as it is possible to get.

It compares Trump to a populist dictator who was widely viewed as an undiginified clown, who celebrated the burning of his capital and who committed suicide after being deposed by rivals who took advantage of his fecklessness and weakness. Let's see if the prediction comes true!

A broken femur is not an ordinary broken bone. You could bleed to death in minutes from a broken femur with nothing having ever broken the skin. Heck, just the force of the impact necessary makes it extremely unlikely that the rest of you will be in any condition to leave the DZ without being carried off under medical care.

Doesn't it? Imagine living in a country where women are forced to shave their heads. I would find that to be quite an important thing. I'd have thought that whether or not a religion/deity demands it should be equally important to a believer.

It strikes me as odd that the manual for life the universe and everything written by the creator of all mankind is so difficult for mankind to correctly decipher. I really hope it's not at all important to follow the instructions it contains, because by the sound of it hardly anyone knows what they actually are, whether they believe or not.

Yo Turtle - one difference between us is that I am willing to teach you what words mean. A writer/speaker implies, a reader/listener infers. If you inferred that she would attend a MAGA rally while infected then you are mistaken, she said nothing that would imply that. Yes, the thing that another person said started with “For the record...” And she replied to laugh at it. You can tell because of all the little faces that look like they’re laughing. Funny how that sense of humour you’re so proud of disappears into the wind when you see a chance to attack a female democratic politician.

That's lucky, since you're evidently unqualified for the role. Perhaps you should pay a lot more attention to reading properly as well as writing properly. This is exactly the point I just made. Without prejudging or supposition, people are going to assume that 'a lot' means 'a lot'. But you probably know this, since you had to selectively quote yourself to make it seem like you didn't say 'a lot'.

Why are you so pathologically dishonest even when it is so easy to see through? You didn't just say "more truth" you said "a lot more truth". You know that any reasonable person making an honest attempt to understand what you said will think you believe that the thing which has "a lot more truth" has "a significant amount of truth". It's not a problem with anyone else's feels making them think that, it's a problem with what you said. Take some damn responsibility for once.

How foolish. I don't think coronavirus is a democratic hoax to harm Trump, just as I don't think Trump somehow 'went early' and stopped it hurting anyone in the USA. BTW, have you found where that Councilwoman vowed to infect anyone yet? Can't think what is taking you so long.
